The Student Annual Architecture Models + Artifacts (S.A.A.M.A.) exhibit is a collaborative design exhibition that focuses on architecture student model work. It is an annual exhibition that catalogs a curated publication of the best physical models that architecture students have made across North America. This is a call to all hardworking architecture students to submit images of their models to be reviewed by the Curatorial Practices Team at KSU-Arch (Kennesaw State University) and publish a catalog of the best work that you have to offer in a digital exhibition.

Architecture in Transformation should respond to contemporary challenges and changes. What concerns us primarily is the relationship between architecture and city, as well as the one between architecture and natural environment. The competition aims at searching and constructing human space with a Spirit of Place in the increasingly fragmented cities and unordered villages, exploring environment-friendly and sustainable ideas in the information age, and integrating creative concepts with solid basic skills in architectural design. The competition requires the participants to make detailed insights and reflections on architectural development, explore complicated demands of the people nowadays for architecture and environment, pay attention to specific sites and the events happening in them, and configure viable and dynamic urban and architectural spaces, at the same time seek suitable techniques to guarantee the possibility of implementation of the project.

120 Hours is an architecture competition by students, for students. Each year we create a task, giving students from all over the world 120 hours to answer. Last year, 1556 teams signed onto the competition.

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) is now accepting submissions for its 9th International Student Tall Building Design Competition, which will distribute $21,000 in prizes to exceptional projects. Top finalists will also have the opportunity to present in real time for winning distinctions during the CTBUH 2020 International Conference's core programming, which will take place in Singapore from October 20–21, 2020.

The Multi Comfort Student Contest is an international competition based on the principles of Saint-Gobain's Multi Comfort Program. It was organized for the first time in 2004 by Saint-Gobain Isover in Serbia and became an international event in 2005. Today, it attracts more than 2,200 students in 35 countries.

The 2020 Sherwin-Williams Student Design Challenge is now open and accepting residential and commercial project submissions through March 15. In recent years the occurrence of deluges and flooding have increased dramatically. Analogously, conflicts and financial crises persist and lead to the development of serious humanitarian emergencies which put the lives of millions of people at risk. Resolving an emergency of any kind means re-establishing peace and security. The crisis must be dealt with in a timely and coordinated manner that includes reception, sensibility, and awareness. What we are looking for, therefore, is the design of a structure that will house an EOC (Emergency Operations Center) and that can help to facilitate the humanitarian operations of international organisations, allowing them to act with the utmost efficiency. The EOC structure is intended to be a model which supports the countless humanitarian initiatives that international organisations implement in an effort to create a better world.

Urban Design Challenge 2020 is a competition that invites students from across the country to come up with design concepts for important sites in Canada’s Capital Region. The competition is organized by the National Capital Commission (NCC), the federal Crown corporation dedicated to ensuring that Canada’s Capital is a dynamic and inspiring source of pride for all Canadians, and building a legacy for generations to come.

In an inevitable evolution to survive and thrive, humans (homo sapiens) have come to the age of advanced technology and lifestyle. In this trail of the progress we have caused the past century’s warming of the earth, by releasing gases that trap heat energy in the atmosphere. These gases, known as greenhouse gases are now at their highest levels than they have been in the past 800,000 years. These greenhouse gases cause a rise in the Earth’s overall temperature causing “Global Warming”.

THE HALYARD is pleased to announce an international design competition to design the finishing touches and interior items for the Owners Suite. The aim of the competition is to provide a unique concept showcasing “Industrial Steam Punk” for the Owners Suite. The Owners Suite is a double storey penthouse situated on the 24 and 25 Floors of the newly completed building known as “The Halyard".

The Avery Review, a journal of critical essays on architecture published by the Office of Publications at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, invites submissions for its third annual Essay Prize. The call is open to current students (undergraduate and masters) and recent graduates, whether in schools of architecture or elsewhere (eligibility details below). In keeping with the mission of the journal, we hope to receive submissions that use the genres of the review and the critical essay to explore some of the urgent questions animating the field of architecture. We’re looking for essays that test and expand the author’s own intellectual commitments—theoretical, architectural, and political—through the work of others.
