The "Habitar América Latina" (Inhabiting Latin America) Dialogues event begins this Monday, April 26, at 7:00 PM (Brasília Time). This event is associated with the presence of REDBAAL (Network of Latin American Architecture Biennials) and the Oscar Niemeyer Award for Latin American Architecture (ON Award) at the 27th UIA2021RIO World Congress: "All the worlds. Just one world."

Promoted by the Student Council of the Architecture and Urbanism program at UFJF (CACAU UFJF), the CACAU Audiovisual Program aims to democratize the teaching of architecture and urbanism for the community. By integrating cultural and social knowledge, the program seeks to share insights beyond the university walls. It features internal initiatives focused on audiovisual production and architectural dialogues, which are published through the Student Council's media channels.

"We had become accustomed to self-exploitation, exhaustion, competition, and perfect performance. However, a microscopic virus forced us to stop (perhaps for the better, at least in this regard). We had to learn to care for ourselves. After more than a year of the pandemic, we became aware of our vulnerability and our dependence on others... we have not only learned to care for ourselves and others, but we have also established relationships of care with 'non-human' agents: plants or pets within our homes; heritage buildings and neighborhoods in our cities; or even landscapes and ecosystems on a territorial scale.

The seminar “Jorge Wilheim: Faint Hope in the Vast Chaos” aims to highlight the theses on the future of cities in the 21st century—developed by Wilheim during the UN Istanbul Conference in the 1990s and expanded upon in publications in the early 2000s—and to present the architect’s thinking as an urban planner, based on his publications: “The Istanbul Path,” with its appendix “Our Fruitful End-of-the-World,” and “Faint Hope in the Vast Chaos – Questions of the 21st Century Proto-Renaissance.”

We must combat the built environment's contribution to global air pollution. We believe that sustainable buildings and cities are a fundamental part of the solution to reducing the environmental and health impacts of global air pollution. Green buildings and cities are an integral component of global sustainable development, as defined by the Sustainable Development Goals.

The contemporary dance group Laboratório 60 will perform this Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 4:30 PM, at the exhibition "Fazer o ar" by artist Iole de Freitas at the Paço Imperial. Composed of Bea Aragão, Bento Dias, Cecília Carvalhosa, Gil Duarte, and Ísis Lua, the group will present a new, free performance within the exhibition space, interacting with the artist's works.

The 1st Seminar on Contemporary Architectures in Brazil [arq.con.br] will take place in Fortaleza, Ceará, at SEBRAE Ceará, from April 1 to 4, 2025, under the main theme HYBRID FRONTIERS. The event is organized by the Laboratory of Criticism in Architecture, Urbanism, and Urbanization [LoCAU], affiliated with the Graduate Program in Architecture, Urbanism, and Design [PPGAU+D] at the Institute of Architecture, Urbanism, and Design [IAUD] of the Federal University of Ceará [UFC], and is coordinated by professors Ricardo Paiva and Bruno Braga from the UFC Architecture and Urbanism program.
