Conceived and organized by CICOP.Net Italy (Centro Internazionale per la Conservazione del Patrimonio Architettonico), the 5th edition of the Biennial of Architectural and Urban Restoration – BRAU is scheduled for April and May 2021.

Interrupciones is a historical review of two episodes that marked a turning point in how the city is made and conceived. On Wednesday, April 28, Carolina Tobler will present the 1972 competition for the remodeling of downtown Santiago as one of the last and clearest examples in Chile of a commitment to the architectural megaproject over urban planning. Anton zu Knyphausen will present the dismantling of professional guild structures as a moment of discontinuity in the discourse of Chilean architecture and the role the profession sought to play in urban development.

The 3rd National Congress for the Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage - CICOP Brazil 2021 is organized by the Architecture and Urbanism program at the Federal Institute of São Paulo (IFSP), São Paulo Campus, and the Department of History at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP). The theme is "Cultural Heritage: Fragments, Sums, Constructions, and Dystopias." The event will be entirely free and held fully online from November 9 to 12, 2021.

Organized by the Academic Center of the Architecture and Urbanism program at UFJF (CACAU UFJF), the doCACAU Audiovisual Program aims to democratize architectural and urban education for the community. By integrating cultural and social knowledge, the program seeks to extend learning beyond the university walls. It includes internal initiatives focused on audiovisual production and architectural discourse, which are shared through the Academic Center’s media channels.

The CUAL Research Group - Urban Commons in Latin America is pleased to invite you to the first seminar, "Urban Commons: Formulations and Experiments in Latin America," designed to establish a meeting platform for researchers, professors, architects, and practitioners involved in the production of thought, debate, and experience regarding the urban common. We understand the notion of the "common" as a collective construction and a political principle that proposes a certain communality of life built in daily practice, operating within the fissures between the State and the market. The varied perspectives and possibilities opened up by the common are explored through the articulations suggested by the thematic axes, using either descriptive or conceptual approaches. The event, as well as its organization, stems from collective work critically committed to building an equitable, inclusive, collaborative, and democratic society.

Vila Flores is an architectural complex of historical and cultural value located in the 4th District of Porto Alegre. Its buildings, designed in 1928 by engineer-architect Joseph Lutzenberger, are listed in the Inventory of Cultural Heritage of Real Estate of the Floresta Neighborhood as "Structuring" properties and are situated within an area of cultural interest in the city.

The "Habitar América Latina" (Inhabiting Latin America) Dialogues event begins this Monday, April 26, at 7:00 PM (Brasília Time). This event is associated with the presence of REDBAAL (Network of Latin American Architecture Biennials) and the Oscar Niemeyer Award for Latin American Architecture (ON Award) at the 27th UIA2021RIO World Congress: "All the worlds. Just one world."

The Campo Comum conference series presents Edições de Arquitectura (Architectural Publishing). Guests include Maria Shéhérazade Giudici, founder of the publishing platform Black Square and editor of AA Files—the Architectural Association's journal—and Spanish architect Moisés Puente, founder of Puente Editores and editor of 2G Magazine since 1998. Both will present their editorial projects, developed in collaboration with a vast constellation of authors, and offer a critical assessment of the discipline's contemporary output. The session will conclude with a conversation curated by Diana Menino and Felipe De Ferrari, during which the audience is invited to participate with questions. The conference will be held in English and exclusively via livestream (at 6:30 PM WEST).

In 2021, the Casa Brasileira (Brazilian House) is the theme guiding the initiatives of the Museu do Ipiranga in partnership with Wiki Movimento Brasil (WMB). The program includes Wikipedia editing marathons, which this year begin with meetings featuring researchers in the field. These experts will discuss their ongoing research at the Museum, followed by training and technical assistance on the platform. The second meeting in this series will take place on Friday, April 23, starting at 2:00 PM, under the theme "Decoration and Feminine and Masculine Identities."
