Nara Roesler Rio de Janeiro is pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition “Logo as sombras desaparecem” on April 29, 2025, at 6:00 PM. The exhibition features recent and previously unseen works by Swiss artist Philippe Decrauzat (b. 1974, Lausanne), a leading figure in the new generation of optical and kinetic art. Based between his hometown and Paris, his work is included in numerous institutional collections in Switzerland and France, as well as at the MoMA in New York and the MACBA in Buenos Aires.

The Institute of Architects of Brazil, in collaboration with IABsp, is pleased to invite you to the panel discussion "Contemporary Architecture in Latin America: Experiences in Argentine Production," which will be held next Monday, April 7, at 7:00 PM, at the IABsp headquarters. This event aims to foster an exchange of ideas and experiences among architects and students, focusing on the paths and challenges faced by contemporary architecture in Argentina. The guest speakers for the discussion are architects Gabriel Biagioni and Gastón Kibysz.

Parallel exhibitions focus on the work of Elizabeth Jobim, who celebrates 40 years of her career by occupying the cultural institute in Cosme Velho.

We invite you to the book launch of IN-FORMAL: Urban Infrastructure Revisited. The event will take place in São Paulo on April 5, 2025, at Livraria Eiffel at 11:00 AM. The event will feature the authors: Professor and Director of FAU UFRJ Guilherme Lassance, along with students Lucas Freitas, Beatriz Gomes, and Nicholas Manso. The event is open to the public and will be moderated by local professors.

On Saturday, April 5, the Eiffel bookstore will host the launch of the book Avenida Brasil rodovia metropolitana. Por um estatuto contemporâneo do espaço infraestrutural. Winner of the 2023 IAB National Award, the book advocates for the concept of the "metropolitan highway." Based on a case study of the urban segment of the BR-101 highway in Rio de Janeiro, the work explores the road far beyond the notion of mobility, positioning it as a key space for rethinking design and urban planning in Brazilian metropolises and the Global South.
Featuring a rich and extensive iconography, the book includes a Morphological Atlas of Avenida Brasil. This visualization enables the proposal of "design logics between highway and territory" as catalysts for the relationships and spatialities implicit in the interface between infrastructure and human occupation.
The event will feature a conversation between the author, Pedro de Moraes, and Professor Guilherme Lassance, author of the book In-formal. Infraestrutura urbana revisitada, which will also be launched at the event. The discussion will be moderated by architect and urban planner Pedro Sales, a professor at Escola da Cidade.

In this special edition of 'Terrace Talk,' the Colombian firm OPUS will host a Facebook Live conversation with four Latin American architects and activists to share perspectives on cities in quarantine.

The objective is to listen to the voices of women and exchange experiences regarding the emergency caused by COVID-19, as well as the health, economic, and social measures implemented by governments. It aims to identify—through a gender and women's human rights perspective—the needs and demands that will foster new proposals for greater inclusion and gender equality in cities.

In light of this transnational calamity and the gradual emergence of new social and political forms, CineCubo IAB—a film club organized by the Institute of Architects of Brazil, São Paulo Department—is launching an open call for its 2nd Cinecubo IAB Short Film Showcase. The event will select films that contribute to a reflection on the circumstances beginning to take shape as a result of this new epidemic situation.
