The second edition of ADD Awards, the international professional award for architects, designers and decorators, returns beginning in September 2016. This year, it will be even more convenient to upload projects and work with the online platform. This year, both completed and conceptual projects created in 2015 and 2016 can take part in the award and be judged by the international professional jury board. On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the reconstruction of the Barcelona Pavilion, the Fundació Mies van der Rohe has organised a symposium, presided over by Juan José Lahuerta, on the figure of Mies van der Rohe and the German Pavilion for the 1929 Barcelona International Exhibition.
The symposium entitled "MIES VAN DER ROHE – BARCELONA, 1929, “Lectures and debates on the Pavilion and Mies van der Rohe” will be held on October 13, 14 and 15 at the Barcelona CaixaForum and will constitute a point of encounter for discussions and knowledge exchange.
The American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) returns fall event programming to the calendar beginning in 2016. In conjunction with the organization’s 60th anniversary, the AIAS will be presenting four AIAS Fall Research Symposium for students in each AIAS Quad. The events are an effort to provide student members with training opportunities centered on designing, funding, performing, and presenting effective research projects. As research represents an important facet of architecture in both the academy and practice, we want to ensure our members obtain the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the profession.
Submissions are now open for the LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2017, an annual international design competition for young designers, engineers, architects, and artists.
This course will look at the mechanisms contained within the most widely used standard forms of contract used in the UK construction industry (JCT and NEC3) where money is required to change hands.
The day is aimed at guiding delegates through a thorough review of the money related provisions, relevant legislation and/or case law that underpins the mechanisms adopted. This course is aimed at practitioners with some knowledge and/or experience in this area to assist them in developing their skills further.

With the successful completion of the first three International PUARL Conferences at the University of Oregon in Portland in 2009, 2011, and 2013 (in cooperation with ARUS), and the latest conference carried out in cooperation with PURPLSOC, the "World Conference on Pattern Languages" at the Danube University of Krems in Austria in the summer of 2015, the PUARL Conference Series has reached a new level of interdisciplinary involvement and a new international format and organization. The annual conferences will continue to alternate between Europe and the US covering the large and growing body of work in the emerging discipline of Regenerative Processes in our Urban Environments.
