Expo F 2018 is the International Construction Materials and Hardware Fair, organized by America Expo Group, which will hold its second edition at the ATLAPA Convention Center in Panama from September 20 to 22, 2018.

From Tuesday, April 17, to Friday, April 20, coinciding with Milano Design Week 2018, Italy will host "Architettura in Corto" for the first time. This short film series on innovation and trends in contemporary architecture is organized by Roca. Created by the Barcelona-based agency B&S, the project aims to promote video as a medium for effectively narrating architectural processes.

Barrio Italia has become an opportunity to propose projects that address architecture through a contextual lens, blurring the lines between technical, conceptual, and urban aspects while treating the physical environment as a foundation for the work. With this perspective in mind, the School of Architecture at Universidad Finis Terrae will host the Urban Traverse: “Barrio Italia: Contextual Architecture in a Gentrifying Neighborhood.” The tour will run from Caupolicán to Av. Condell, visiting sites such as Estación Italia and Maison Italia, and will be led by Camilo Oliva, an architect and professor at Universidad Finis Terrae.

Bimtool launches the second edition of The BIM Challenge 2018, an international online architecture competition open to participants worldwide across three categories: Architecture Students, Licensed Architects, and an Open category for those who do not fall into the previous groups.

Bloco is an annual publication from the Architecture and Urbanism program at Feevale University. It is distributed free of charge and is also available in a digital edition.
For 2018, Bloco (14) aims to explore the diverse ways in which architects and urban planners practice.
With this theme in mind, we invite everyone to participate in the selection process for publication in Bloco. Initially, we are accepting only abstracts for the selection of articles to be published this year.

The goal of this competition is to award the design of a construction element, piece of furniture, sculpture, roof, slab, wall, assembly, prototype, or module to be built using tile vaults. This is the first competition organized by the "Taller de Bóvedas" group, aimed at promoting and encouraging new designs using tile vaults across all fields. Furthermore, as an incentive, the winner will see their design realized during the 7th Advanced Vault Workshop 2018.

Registration is now open for the fourth edition of the VEKA Latin America Cultural Competition. This initiative from the German multinational PVC profile systems company introduces new features this year: projects will be evaluated in two categories—Horizontal Architecture and Vertical Architecture—and must have been executed in any country in Latin America.

Call for Entries: Second Edition of the Oscar Niemeyer Award for Latin American Architecture (ON-02 Award)

In the early hours of May 1, 2018, a fire broke out at the Wilton Paes de Almeida building, located in Largo do Paissandú in downtown São Paulo. Less than two hours after the fire began, the building collapsed.
