The Casa da Arquitectura (CA) – Portuguese Centre for Architecture and the Assembly of the Republic will inaugurate the exhibition "The House of Democracy: Between Space and Power" tomorrow, February 17, at 5:00 PM in the Casa Gallery. The exhibition explores the intersection between the architectural transformation of the São Bento Palace and the political evolution of Portugal.

“Húsares trágicos” (Tragic Hussars) is a collective exhibition featuring the work of 17 contemporary artists at the Casas de los Carrera National Monument in El Monte. Built in the mid-18th century, the site was the home of José Miguel and Javiera Carrera, key figures in the Chilean War of Independence.
PILOTO Itinerant Architecture Gallery showcases the work of young architects who stand out for exploring new formats of production linked to art. The works are presented through interventions in common spaces—such as bars, cafés, and community centers—located in different cities across Chile, with the goal of bringing the discipline closer to a wider audience. From March 29 to April 8, the work "Ecotono" will be presented in the city of Concepción, Chile.
Unlike previous editions, the Association of Architects of Chile has proposed that the 2018 National Congress of Architects return to Santiago with a broad and diverse call for participation, thereby becoming a genuine forum for reflection to analyze the crisis experienced in recent times and to identify the challenges facing our profession. The 2nd Science, Technology, and Society Symposium, to be held at UNILA/Foz do Iguaçu on May 24th and 25th, focuses on the geopolitics of knowledge, dependency, and coloniality in Latin America. In other words, the symposium aims to bring Latin American Thought on Science, Technology, and Society (PLACTS) closer to the decolonial perspective, viewing it as a theoretical expression created by the South and for the South, specifically addressing issues most relevant to Latin America. Decolonial thought understands the world through its interiorities, geographical space, and dissident bodies, serving as a powerful critique of Western modernity and its inherent colonial violence, as well as the coloniality of power and knowledge.
On Wednesday, January 24, the Municipal Theater of Chillán will host the opening of the Chillán Citizen Forum: Modern Landscape/Transforming Territories, a three-day event that will reflect on the architectural, cultural, and artistic heritage of the locality and the new Ñuble Region. At 6:30 p.m., project curators Paul Birke and Pablo Brugnoli will present the initiative, which seeks to connect and integrate artists, thinkers, and professionals from various disciplines with local communities in an open dialogue regarding Chillán’s modern landscape.
The inaugural event will also feature the panel discussion “The Utopia of Latin American Architecture and the Case of Chillán,” which will center on honoring the distinguished architect Osvaldo Cáceres, who has had an extensive career not only as an architect but also in the research, documentation, and dissemination of national architectural history and heritage.

Coletivo Sabinada invites you to the opening of the exhibition "(I)Mobilidades: Trajetórias e Narrativas," organized by the collective as part of the artistic experimentation project "(I)Mobilidade Urbana: Percursos e recortes de uma problemática social construída e invisibilizada" (PIBExA 2018/PROEXT-UFBA). Six artists from the emerging cultural scene in Bahia—Ana Elisa Improta, Tita Anjos, Oliver Dorea, Diego J. Cardoso, Milena Ferreira, and Janusberg Barbosa—were invited to create works based on research conducted by Coletivo Sabinada regarding the mobility of FAUFBA students. The findings, organized into a database, were made available to the artists, who used them as catalysts for their work.
