38th Architecture and Urbanism Week – Reclaiming Origins – FAU UNITAU 40th Anniversary

In early 2018, the Department of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Taubaté marked its 40th anniversary. As the most traditional school of Architecture and Urbanism in the Paraíba region, it has introduced approximately 2,000 qualified professionals to the regional and state job markets, specializing in building construction, urbanism, landscape architecture, interior design, historic preservation, and more.
Hundreds of professors have taught at the department, enriching students' education and providing the professional and academic experience necessary for architects and urban planners.

Each year, the school hosts the Architecture and Urbanism Week, featuring academic, cultural, and social programming aimed at its internal community. This year, however, the program will be expanded to include celebrations of the school's 40th anniversary, with the goal of revisiting its history and welcoming back former students and faculty to the institution.

      ArqFilmFest and the Architects' Association invite you to the advance screening of "Chiloé"

      On Sunday, May 6, La Red TV will premiere “Chiloé,” a documentary series that explores how architecture connects with a unique way of viewing the world. The five half-hour episodes will feature documentary segments starring architects, carpenters, artisans, and residents, showcasing the diverse realities established there.

      From January 24 to 26, the citizen forum on art, architecture, and the city, Chillán: Modern Landscape/Territories in Transformation, will take place at various locations throughout Chillán. The event includes lectures, free workshops, and a grand closing celebration featuring folk singers and other cultural expressions at the iconic COPELEC building.

      The event aims to bring together the community with international artists, architects, and intellectuals in a gathering focused on revaluing the human, artistic, and territorial heritage of the newly formed Ñuble region.

      Starting May 3rd, Bilbao will host the largest public housing exhibition organized in the Basque Country.

      ‘Housing the Basque Country (Vivienda Pública en Euskadi/Euskadiko Etxebizitza Publikoa). 1981-2018’ is the title of an ambitious exhibition summarizing nearly four decades of public housing policy in the Basque Country since the transfer of powers to the regional government.

      Book launch: "Architecture and the Modern City in Southern Chile: Memory, Territory, and Project"

      Arquitectura y ciudad moderna en el sur de Chile. Memoria, territorio y proyecto is a book that originated from the "Surmoderno" seminar, "Valoración del Patrimonio Moderno en el Sur de Chile," held in Concepción in 2015. Two years later, following extensive editorial work, this volume was published to share and disseminate knowledge and reflections on the modern architecture developed in cities such as Chillán, Concepción, Talcahuano, Lota, Nacimiento, Osorno, and Punta Arenas—all of which exemplify the widespread development of this architectural style in the country.

      Open House Santiago launches its second edition: an invitation to explore and rediscover the city's architecture

      For the second consecutive year, OH! Stgo (Open House Santiago) invites you to explore and rediscover our city through a free event that offers access to spaces usually closed to the public, ranging from sites of high architectural and engineering value to those of environmental, urban, social, or cultural significance.

      This year, on Saturday, September 8, and Sunday, September 9, more than 90 spaces across 30 municipalities will open their doors, allowing you to discover, discuss, and engage with the urban infrastructure of Greater Santiago.

      On Saturday, June 2, at 4:00 PM, the Casa da Arquitectura – Centro Português de Arquitectura will host the presentation of a piece of furniture designed by architect Bartolomeu Costa Cabral for Projecto Martins. The piece will be sold exclusively at the Casa da Arquitectura store in Matosinhos for one year.
