Short Course: "Collectives and Occupations" Module 01 - Civic Process Design

"Cooperation in Digital Networks" is the topic of the sixth IAAC Networks session, an open, online event broadcast via streaming.

As part of the Fábrica de Ciudad activities scheduled for the second half of 2021, we are pleased to present the fifth cycle of the Viernes de Fábrica lecture series. We remain convinced that, now more than ever, academia must be linked to social issues by creating School+Community projects. With over 1,500 students, architects, and professors from 20 countries having participated in the 28 sessions held to date, we invite you to continue contributing to this initiative. We are now announcing the fifth cycle of Viernes de Fábrica, the second lecture series of 2021, which will take place from July 30 to December 3.

Tezontle, formed by Lucas Cantú and Carlos H. Matos, presents an intervention at LIGA that highlights their recent work: Sinseñalismo (No-Signalism). This project investigates the concepts of digital disconnection and deceleration, aiming to uncover the relationships between these ideas within architecture and art. Through this experience, they promote and demonstrate a reconnection with the elemental essence of humanity.

PENSARQ_ will open a dialogue on architecture, visual impairment, and cultural spaces through a series of workshops at the Museo Cabañas, an activity supported by the Proyecta 2021 grant from the Jalisco Ministry of Culture.

The Aga Khan Award for Architecture: Living Heritage

Helmut Jahn: Life + Architecture is a new exhibit at the Chicago Architecture Center honoring the late Chicago architect and style icon. Get to know this extraordinary man who will continue to inspire generations to come.

On the occasion of the exhibition The Vienna Model - Housing for the Twenty-First-Century City opening, architects Bettina Götz and Richard Manahl from the Austrian architectural studio ARTEC and architect and Professor in History and Theory of Architecture Josep Maria Montaner will give an inaugural talk on Thursday 15 July at 5 pm, followed by an open debate with the speakers.

Hundreds of conferences, thousands of projects, countless ideas, enriching dialogues, exhibitions, books, and meetings: all coming together for the world's largest architecture event, taking place next week—from July 18 to 23—in Brazil and Rio de Janeiro, the "Marvelous City," during these times of pandemic.

The book launch for Santiago de Chile 1977-1990: Arquitectura, Ciudad y Política by Daniel Talesnik will take place next Tuesday, July 27, at 6:00 p.m. via the UC School of Architecture's Facebook Live. The event will feature commentary from Andrea Insunza, Amarí Peliwoski, and Tomás Errazuriz.

The PROJETO + PROCESSO series features prominent figures in national and international architecture to present their work, introducing their design methodologies—from initial studies and sketches to client presentations and their active involvement in the process. The series explores the references used in the project and the relationships with the surroundings, the city, and the environment.

The Colombian Society of Architects is launching the 2021 Award for Excellence in Sustainable Architecture – Vidrio Andino. This award was established to recognize Colombian projects that have excelled in the field of sustainable construction. The award seeks to promote sustainability in architecture by recognizing the collaborative efforts of designers, developers, and builders in creating projects that combine construction quality with architectural design, innovation, material selection, and positive environmental and social impact.
