The 2001 Pritzker Prize-winning Herzog & de Meuron is known for working on projects at every scale – from furniture to territorial studies – and approaching each project without preconceptions Notable examples of their work include the Tate Modern gallery in London, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany National Stadium in Beijing, China, the main stadium for the 2008 Olympics, and Prada Aoyama in Tokyo. In November 2022, the firm broke ground on the much-anticipated Calder Gardens dedicated to the works of Alexander Calder on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia.

As part of the landmark exhibition created by NEOM entitled ‘Zero Gravity Urbanism - Principles for a New Livability’, there will be a series of public events, featuring leading architects, academics, and urban thinkers from around the world.

Join World Monuments Fund (WMF) for panel discussion exploring ongoing efforts to tackle water insecurity in South Asia by reviving historic water management systems in India and Nepal. Moderated by WMF Vice President of Programs Jonathan S. Bell, the event will consider the opportunities presented by these efforts to address intersecting contemporary issues, including the impacts of urbanization and climate change on access to clean water.

A common scenario experienced by rapidly urbanising Indian cities today is that irrespective of their geographical location, level of development and state of economic stability, the quality of life in the public realm is extremely poor. This design challenge has been conceived by Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC) and Sensing Local in partnership with the Institute of Urban Designers India (IUDI), Curiosity Alliance Foundation, and Kasturi Nagar Residents Welfare Association aims to blend technical expertise with citizen participation to reclaim and transform parts of Bengaluru through the Urban Revamp Design Challenge.

Punto Zero. An object that wanted to change the world, is an exhibition curated by the students of the School for Curatorial Studies Venice. This event has been created in collaboration with Video Sound Art Milan, a festival and production centre of contemporary art, Coordinated by Laura Lamonea (artistic director and curator) and Thomas Ba (curator). The students have developed a curatorial project investigating the invisible qualities of objects. Through installations, sculptures, sound, and site-specific performative events, the visitor will have the opportunity to confront the nature of the objects that surround us. The exhibition can be visited between the 13 and 21 of May at Istituto secondario di primo grado Pier Fortunato Calvi, located between the Giardini and the Arsenale of the Venice Biennale.

Stories of Situated Pedagogies in Architecture and … aims to gather educators and learners who are enthusiastic about sharing their stories of situated pedagogies in architecture and other fields with an interest in critical spatial practices. We invite all to apply to this workshop call with critical responses to their personal experiences in education. We envision a playful and productive platform for communication through pre-workshop peer-to-peer reviews, round-table sessions and field trips in Istanbul, and post-workshop collaborations for publication.

We see the climate crisis as a clear indication that new social, aesthetic, economic and ecological values must be discussed and established. This also concerns the question of the possibilities of a climate-friendly transformation of our cities.

On May 19, 2023 at 7PM, on the occasion of the vernissage of the 18th International Architecture Exhibition at the Biennale di Venezia, the Unfolding Pavilion will once more open its doors to the public. Following the previous editions on Ignazio Gardella’s Casa alle Zattere, Gino Valle’s Giudecca Social Housing, and the lost replica of John Hejduk’s House for the Inhabitant Who Refused to Participate, the fourth Unfolding Pavilion will be dedicated to the Giardini della Biennale: the Venetian site featuring the highest concentration of modern architecture, with buildings by Alvar Aalto, Josef Hoffmann, Gerrit Rietveld, Carlo Scarpa, James Stirling, Sverre Fehn and more.

The GAD Foundation in cooperation with RT & Q Architects of Singapore and Istanbul Technical University Faculty of Architecture is pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition, “LC150+ Le Corbusier Exhibition Istanbul 2023”, showcasing built and unbuilt buildings of the iconic Swiss-French architect displayed in 150+ models. The exhibition will be on view from May 29 to June 15, 2023, at ITU Faculty of Architecture Taskisla and will feature over 150 of Le Corbusier's. “We are thrilled to bring this important exhibition to Istanbul,” said Gokhan Avcioglu, principal and founder of the GAD Architecture and GAD Foundation. “Le Corbusier's influence on modern architecture and design cannot be overstated, and we hope this exhibition will give visitors a greater appreciation for his legacy that has part of its origins here in Istanbul,” said Gokhan Karakus, Director of the GAD Foundation.

The European Cultural Centre (ECC) is pleased to present the sixth edition of its extensive biennial architecture exhibition titled Time Space Existence. This year the group show stands on the notion that our home, our surroundings, and our planet are under pressure, urging us to work together to explore a sustainable way forward. A total of 217 projects will be presented from the 20th of May until the 26th of November, 2023, at Palazzo Bembo, Palazzo Mora and the Marinaressa Gardens, in the heart of Venice, Italy.

This bi-lingual exhibition showcases eight projects by award-winning Japanese and Australian landscape architects that explore the tactics and strategies they use to implement innovative design outcomes. As part of Melbourne Design Week, join us for a free floor talk in the gallery on Sat 20 May and panel discussions hosted by RMIT on Sun 21 May that will bring together the Australian designers and three Japanese designers.

Patricia Rhee, a Partner at Ehrlich Yanai Rhee Chaney Architects, has been practicing architecture for 20 years. She received her Master's degree in Architecture from Harvard's Graduate School of Design and received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the AIA, DBIA and is a LEED Accredited Professional. She is a Board Member of the Culver City Chamber of Commerce and recipient of the 2017 Culver City Women in Business Council Visionary Award. Patricia was also a Founding Co-Chair of the AIA Los Angeles Women in Architecture Committee. In 2015, her firm received the 2015 National AIA Firm Award, one of the industry’s highest honors. Patricia has served as Lead Designer for several of the firm’s most challenging and award-winning projects including the John M. Roll United States Courthouse and the United Arab Emirates’ Federal National Council Parliament Complex. Patricia believes that architecture should facilitate community gathering, bringing people together, encouraging dialog and exchange.

The Futuro House is a unique, futurist-style dwelling designed by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen in the late 1960s. The house was envisioned as a portable, prefabricated structure that could be easily transported to remote or difficult-to-reach locations.The house has a distinctive flying saucer shape, with a circular floor plan and a domed roof. The outer shell of the house is made of reinforced fiberglass, with a high-gloss finish that gives it a futuristic look. It sits on four legs, which elevate it slightly off the ground and provide stability on uneven terrain.
