Student Competition: "CEMEX Pavilion 2018"

With the support of CEMEX and the Arq. Marcelo Zambrano Scholarship, the first edition of the CEMEX Pavilion 2018 competition is now open. Open to the student community in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area, participants are invited to intervene in a heritage property located in the city's historic center. The goal is to provide a fresh platform for students to express their concerns and passions regarding the craft through a built project, bridging the gap between academia and professional practice.

Fifty works bring Álvaro Siza and Andreu Alfaro together in Valencia

On Thursday, May 24, at 7:00 PM, the Espai Alfaro will host the opening of the exhibition AlfaroSiza: Ideas encontradas, which brings together and exhibits, for the first time, works by architect Álvaro Siza and sculptor Andreu Alfaro. The explorations of both in sculpture, drawing, and architecture, along with the undeniable and striking relationship between their creations, serve as the exhibition's main draw.

Jane's Walk Buenos Aires 2018: Urban Walking Festival

Buenos Aires is once again joining the global urban walking festival, Jane's Walk. The seventh local edition of the event will take place from Friday, May 4, to Sunday, May 6, aiming to foster a connection between urban space and citizens to encourage a more human, active, and pedestrian-friendly city.

The more than 20 free walks taking place throughout the city are organized by Urbanismo Vivo, which has coordinated the local event since 2012, featuring routes through different neighborhoods and covering a variety of themes.

Open Studio – Vkhutemas Models FUNARTESP

Goma Oficina invites students and faculty to a guided tour of the studio where models are being produced for the exhibition "Vkhutemas 1918–2018: Future in Construction," curated by Celso Lima and Neide Jallageas. The exhibition will take place at Sesc Pompeia in July 2018.
During the visit, the Goma team will present the entire process of reproducing these projects and objects, as well as the broader historical context of the Vkhutemas experience and its relationship to architectural education in the country.
The studio is based at FunarteSP and houses the reproductions of the following works: Tatlin’s Monument to the Third International ("The Tower"), Leonidov’s Lenin Institute, Malevich’s Architektons, Melnikov’s Sleep Sonata, and Rodchenko and Stepanova’s Composition 12 and Imitabichos.

AndesWorkshop, led by Cazú Zegers and GrupoTalca, is now accepting applications for 2018. The initiative aims to explore the Andes Mountains (Chile), analyze their landscape, engage with their inhabitants and history, and understand their origins.
