The Rosa Barba Casanovas International Landscape Architecture Prize aims to recognise the best and most innovative practices in Landscape Architecture, for build projects created worldwide from 2017 to 2022. Deadline on the 30th May 2023

The Daxi Wood Art Ecomuseum, Taoyuan is hosting the First Daxi International Wood Furniture Craft and Design Competition with a prize pool of US$49,000(NT$1.5 million). The competition aims to promote Daxi's wood furniture craft, encourage diversity and innovation in the industry, and raise international awareness of Taiwan's wood furniture. Creators from all over the world are welcome to participate.

Madera: Innovation for Social Architecture in
Uruguay is an international architecture
competition organized by the Ministry of
Housing and Territorial Planning of Uruguay
(Ministerio de Vivienda y Ordenamiento
Territorial, MVOT) and MEVIR, with the
support of the Inter-American Development
Bank.
The competition is a call for proposals for new
low-rise, single family, housing typologies using innovative wood
technology. The winning proposal will be
built by MEVIR in a demonstration complex
of 20 units in the town of
Tranqueras, in the Department of Rivera,
in the north of Uruguay. The main objective of the
competition is to promote and enhance the
use of Uruguayan wood as a construction
material for social housing, incorporating
design and technological innovation,
energy efficiency, and sustainability principles.

We are delighted to invite architects, artists, and designers to express their interest in working on a new site-responsive public art project in Somers Town, Central London.

"Datament", a monumental installation to be presented at the Polish Pavilion for the 18th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, will allow visitors to experience data in its ‘physical’ form. The space of the pavilion will be filled with the frames of four life-size houses. These seemingly chaotic and absurd structures faithfully reproduce the source data. The exhibition is intended as a starting point for a discussion about how, while new technologies may not offer us ready-made solutions, they can help us ask better questions.

New construction as an exception? “Waste” as a new building material? Affordable housing vs. climate protection? How do we design a building’s whole lifecycle? How do we calculate grey energy honestly? What is zero-carbon concrete? Which insights are new, and how can we tap past knowledge to develop solutions for the future? How do we shape this complex change process together? “Second City. On the New in the Old” is the theme of Architecture Matters 2023, where we will explore this topic at different levels: materials, buildings, society.

The Republic of Kosovo is taking part for the fifth time in the International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia from 20 May to 26 November 2023 with a project by architects Poliksen Qorri-Dragaj and Hamdi Qorri entitled “rks2 | transcendent locality”.

The cultural association dotART, based in Trieste, Italy, is organising the 14th edition of URBAN Photo Awards contest. The contest is open to everybody and organised into 4 sections: Single Photos (4 thematic areas: Streets, People, Spaces, Creative),Projects & Portfolios, URBAN Book Award and URBAN Photo Arena (Trieste Photo Young). Contestants can participate in more than one section at the same time.
The general theme of the contest is Urban Life: Urban Photography. The theme delves into modernity through all kinds of photography set in the fabric of the city.
At the heart of the contest is the City, the urban environment and the humanity living there: the everyday life of big cities and small towns, the contrasts and the contradictions between the city and the countryside, the aesthetic views, the architectural geometries, fragments of colour breaking up the greyness of the city. Real, immediate images, able to recount the City and its stories.
Special guests of this year will be Alec Soth, an American photographer and member of Magnum Photos, and Jérôme Sessini, a documentary photographer and member of Magnum Photos.
Alec Soth and Jérôme Sessini, together with Kadir van Lohuizen, a Dutch photographer and NOOR Images Member, Tatsuo Suzuki, a Japanese photographer, and many others will be part of the jury of this edition of URBAN 2023 and will be guests of honor at the tenth edition of Trieste Photo Days to personally announce and award the winners of the competition and hold exclusive talks.
The URBAN Photo Awards exhibitions will culminate at Trieste Photo Days 2023, which hosts the awards ceremony, the final exhibition of the contest and a series of personal and collective exhibitions of the best photos and classified projects.

Dichotomy, a student published journal, strives to be a critical link between University of Detroit Mercy students and the discourses on design, architecture, urbanism, and community development. Like the institution, Dichotomy focuses on social justice and critical thought concerning intellectual, spiritual, ethical, and social development both in and outside of Detroit. The aim of Dichotomy is to disseminate these relevant investigations conducted by students, faculty, and professionals.

We choose the top 3 designs in 5 categories (white/coloured 1-storey buildings, white/coloured 2-storey building, brick 1-storey buildings, brick 2-storey buildings, plyscraper complexes).
Key elements for all designs are: energy-efficiency, use-efficiency, combat Sick Building Syndrome, comfort, and sustainable modular design.
All designs are welcome since one of the objectives is to show how homes and neighbourhoods with our materials do not differ from traditional buildings in design. Only in comfort, health, and wellbeing. Designs inspired by Portuguese building styles are prefered.
