2019 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus, the German school that revolutionized education and production in architecture and design.

The Félix Candela Award is a two-stage international architecture ideas competition conducted in Spanish. Organized annually by the Instituto Español de Arquitectura (IESARQ), it is open to students of architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, and design, as well as architects, landscape architects, urban planners, and designers up to 35 years of age, participating individually or in teams of two or three.

The Creative Urban Agriculture Workshop will investigate how design, driven by creativity and new technologies, can help boost participatory food production in urban environments in a proactive and productive manner across various scales. Our goal is to develop innovative prototypes for urban food production systems, sharing knowledge with citizens, architects, designers, and artists on how to build creative cultivation systems.

When we speak of architecture and ask ourselves what it is, we can recall the words of one of the great masters, Mies van der Rohe, who reminds us that “Architecture starts when you put together two bricks, carefully.” In other words, architecture begins with placing one brick next to another, but the detail lies in doing so with care.

Provincia is a festival taking place in the city of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, on April 4, 5, and 6 of this year. It aims to create an open space for dialogue and the presentation of topics of civic interest, emphasizing responsible participation in architectural development within the region.

This year, the Chilean Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism will move from traditional buildings to the streets. Throughout the month of October, it will be presented as an "Open-Air Architecture Fair" in iconic spaces across five cities in the country: Iquique, La Serena, Santiago, Concepción, and Puerto Montt. The goal is to bring architecture closer to the general public while also directing the focus of architects toward the needs of the majority.

The inauguration of YAP_Constructo 8 will take place next Thursday, April 11, at Parque Araucano (Santiago). The program is developed in Chile by CONSTRUCTO in partnership with MoMA and is directed by architects Jeannette Plaut and Marcelo Sarovic.
