The Brazilian Association of Landscape Architects (ABAP) was awarded a grant last December through a CAU-SP public call to host an international congress titled "Landscape and Art." The event focuses on the themes of representation and landscape, as well as key figures and their work. We have brought together highly regarded researchers and professionals, and our goal is to explore the intersections of painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, and design, reaffirming the aesthetic and complex dimension of the landscape.

This workshop will be led by ZAP&BUJ, winners of the eighth edition of the 2017 Samsung EGO Innovation Project, finalists for Vogue Who´s on Next 2018 and 2019, and recipients of awards at the Ibero-American Design Biennial (BID18), among other recognitions.

On Friday, April 12, at 7:00 PM, the Museu da Cidade (MUCI) – Fundição Lidgerwood will host the opening of O Peso da Terra (The Weight of the Earth), the first solo exhibition by architect and visual artist Alexandre Silveira. The exhibition brings together a selection of works across various media from the past decade of the artist's visual arts practice, including several previously unseen pieces, such as the video O Peso da Terra, filmed during an artist residency at Chão SLZ in São Luís, Maranhão, in 2015.

This course presents a historical narrative of surface design, covering authors and projects involving textile patterns, wallpaper, relief cladding, and cobogós from the 18th century to the present day. It highlights significant profiles and proposals from designers such as William Kilburn, William Morris, Varvara Stepanova, Frank Lloyd Wright, Lucienne Day, Regina Gomide Graz, and Athos Bulcão, among many others, while examining the influence of various artistic movements on these creators throughout history.

The Popayán University Foundation, through its Faculty of Architecture and in strategic partnership with the Banco de la República, continues to develop top-tier academic initiatives. These efforts deserve to be shared with the broader academic community and the general public, which is why we are hosting the third edition of the Colombian Colloquium on Architecture and the City: "200 Years of a Nation in the World. History, Present, and Future of Architecture in Colombia," to be held on April 4–5 at the Casa de la Moneda Convention Center in Popayán.

Miguel Lawner Steiman, alumnus and academic at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of Chile and Executive Director of the Urban Improvement Corporation (CORMU) during the Salvador Allende administration, will deliver the keynote lecture "An Architect in Prison."

The course aims to introduce participants to theatrical architecture and its interdisciplinary context through an introduction to the history of global scenic architecture, exploring the languages that directly influenced the architecture and theatrical practice of Teat(r)o Oficina.

The School of Architecture at Universidad Finis Terrae is launching the fourth edition of "Atraviesos Urbanos" (Urban Crossings), a series of tours designed and led by architects that provide an alternative perspective on a specific section of the city.

Sunday, April 14, is the final day to visit the "Santiago, Ciudad Destino" exhibition at the GAM Cultural Center. The closing event will take place at 6:30 PM with the vote count for the Migrant Citizen Consultation, which was part of an intervention proposed by the design collective Gt2p. As part of the closing celebrations, an open Afro-dance class will also be held on Saturday at 3:00 PM.

On April 11, the Modular installation opens at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (Forestal branch). The project emerges from academic research inspired by the principles of liquid architecture and the creation of an articulated geometry device designed to explore the dynamic relationships between sound, space, time, and event.

The issue of diasporas, observed in the displacement of populations across the globe, is a pressing topic. Everyone is in search of a dream: the city as a welcoming shelter for those whom life's adversities have expelled from their lands. To conceive of this CITY that people can call home, in times of diaspora, we need UTOPIA. The city that does not yet exist is a possible city, or even more: it is the construction of an ideal of urban experiences grounded in hospitality and solidarity.

Ideasforward is an experimental platform that seeks progressive ideas reflecting emerging themes. Ecological design, sustainable architecture, new materials, concepts, and technologies are urgent issues for the societies of the future, and the participation of the entire community is essential. In an era of globalization, where communication has been dominated by the technological revolution, there is a need to rethink cities and how people relate to one another in a global world, as well as to rethink the economic, social, and cultural patterns of contemporary societies.
