Design & Build Children’s Nature Play Pavilion at Red Soil Nature Play

We are inviting young architects / final year students, to build the First Children’s Nature Play Pavilion at Red Soil Nature Play. This is a blind fold jury competition; the selected top 3 entries will be given natural space of 1500 sq.ft at Red Soil Site. You are left to your own imagination with sensitivity towards young children and nature. We will grant/ fund the project. Each Pavilion (selected entries) will be built periodically (one by one) and will amaze the young children for 3-4 months at Red Soil Nature Play.

Opportunity Space is an international design-build competition challenging multidisciplinary teams to propose a temporary, mobile structure that will support economic opportunity and social inclusion in Malmö, Sweden.

Europe’s migration crisis has intensified the need for cities to develop new tools and strategies to help people build skills, earn a living, and establish their place in society. To address this challenge, New York-based design nonprofit Van Alen Institute has launched Opportunity Space, a competition inviting multidisciplinary teams to propose a temporary mobile structure in Malmö, Sweden that will support a wide range of social programs.

The winning team will receive a $10,000 prize, a $5,000 travel budget, and up to $25,000 to implement their proposal in and around Malmö’s Enskifteshagen Park for two months in spring 2017.

Red Brick field is a parcel of 0.534 hectares of greens space serving residential properties in Red Brick estate, Barne Barton Plymouth. Historically part of a former school playing fields, Red Brick field provides a level space for recreation. We would like to commission an original and distinctive proposal for improvements that activate the space, enhance the function and identity of the field, and encourage greater use by the community. These will include a gateway sculpture, play features, seating features, signage/waymarking and gating improvements. The design proposal should respond to ideas of community identity and heritage.
