“Good design deserves great recognition”. This statement encapsulates the A'Design Award and Competition, an award for designers, innovators and companies that wish to stand out and attract the attention of the media, editors and buyers. These aspects are especially important in the world of design, where millions of products and projects are launched, and often end up being swallowed up and not receiving due recognition. To address this, every year projects are submitted to the A' Design Award with a focus on innovation, technology, design and creativity. It offers a chance for recognition, with the valuable curatorship of a renowned jury and the possibility of a successful international launch. The A'Design Award contains a series of public relations, advertising and marketing services to celebrate the success of its winners. In addition, and unlike other design awards, it is completely free of charge.

The International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam needs your contribution to reimagine the way we conceive and build our world. The 10th International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR), titled IT’S ABOUT TIME, will reflect on the notion of time and design. Time, we claim, is an essential yet neglected parameter in designing sustainable futures. It is therefore only antidote to the short-term interests that seem to be ruling the world.

The idea of the contest is to work on objects that create tension in spaces, generating future projections that bring new visions and strategies to implement a place through an open and dynamic process. The object in question is a “catalyst”, that intervenes with its strength in an urban space and changes it. In this scenario in which the city is protagonist, what generate interaction? The reflection focuses on Architecture, its function, transience and the relationship with the outside. It may disappear one day, but the void left around it is only apparent since what it creates remains over time. An object symbol that somehow establishes a new spatial, social and cultural dimension. Questioning the urban space means meditating around the “emptiness” of the city, understood as a “place” of social events, forms, meanings, in which its own identity is reflected. Spaces live through change.
Non Architecture Competitions aims to find unconventional and unexplored design solutions in the field of architecture. The second phase of competitions is structured in 9+1 themes: a Research Ecosystem with the purpose of exploring each theme from different perspectives. The goal of this competition is to foster research and the development of academic content in the form of essays. These submissions should provide a historical account and analyze the urban and architectural evolution of the city from its founding to the present day, framed within the various categories established for this competition.

With the »District of the Generations«, the city of Schorndorf, a medium-sized center with about 40,000 inhabitants in the Rems-Murr district, is planning an urban development extension of the »suburb« to the north of the train station. The goal is to develop a dense neighbourhood where multiple generations can come together to live, work, and care for one another. The core of the plan is the 1.5 hectare site of the former construction and municipal depot. Proximity to the city, good quality of life, and a strong sense of community should be created in the new district through common living spaces, as well as through the combination of public areas and diverse options for local infrastructure, education, leisure, and culture. The project managers are intentionally focusing on resource-saving, low-emission energy and material concepts. The area should be designed to have low vehicle traffic, with a focus on public local transportation and spaces for sharing services and deliveries.
