Panel Discussion + Film Premiere: Ugly, Dirty & Bad. Contemporary Architecture in Latin America

Exhibition: Light, Form, Act, and Symbol: 3 Works + 3 Projects

The exhibition by architect and academic Rubén Muñoz, titled "Light, Form, Act, and Symbol," presents a series of models alongside a catalog featuring three built works and three recent projects from his architectural practice. The exhibition seeks to enrich professional practice with reflections from the doctoral thesis that gives the exhibition its name.

Resonant Spaces: Festival of Architecture and Listening

Aiming to explore and transform abandoned architectural spaces through sound experimentation, the first edition of the "Resonant Spaces" (Espacios Resonantes) Architecture and Listening Festival will take place from Monday, November 14, to Saturday, November 26, featuring a variety of activities across the districts of Recoleta and Santiago.

Isolated Dialogues "The Craft: The Memory of the Hands" / Guillermo Acuña and Rolando Abarca

A conversation between architect Guillermo Acuña and master stonemason and historian Rolando Abarca will be part of a new session of "Diálogos Aislados" (Isolated Dialogues), a series organized by the School of Architecture at Universidad Finis Terrae. The series began during the pandemic to foster discussion on various topics, debates, and new ideas through multidisciplinary online dialogue.

From Territory to Detail: 16th International Seminar on Latin American Architecture

The 16th edition of the international architecture seminar "From Territory to Detail" serves as a space for dialogue and reflection, bringing together students, academics, and professionals in the field alongside renowned Latin American architects. These practitioners share a common approach: balancing teaching with professional work across diverse areas, ranging from editorial projects to artistic experimentation.

Urban Traverse: "Bellas Artes and Miraflores: A Tragedy of Styles"

Fabián Barros, an architect, academic, and Ph.D. in Advanced Architectural Projects, will lead the upcoming Atravieso Urbano—a walking tour organized by the Universidad Finis Terrae School of Architecture in partnership with the Nuestro Centro association—which explores the cultural, urban, and historical significance of the neighborhood.

Urban Traverse: "Bellavista Neighborhood: Art, Bohemia, and the City"

Since 2016, the Universidad Finis Terrae School of Architecture has hosted Atraviesos Urbanos (Urban Traversals), a series of thematic tours through various sectors of the capital where an architect from the institution discusses the cultural, urban, and historical value of a neighborhood. For this new edition, the school has joined forces with Nuestro Centro, a neighborhood association dedicated to the revitalization of five neighborhoods: Bellas Artes, Bustamante, Lastarria, Plaza Italia, and Bellavista.

Robotic Timber Construction Workshop

The workshop is designed for architects, engineers, designers, students, and/or academics who wish to learn about and explore the design, programming, and robotic execution of timber joinery. It will consist of two intensive days of hands-on work, covering everything from computational design to robotic timber fabrication. The workshop will be led by architect Francisco Quitral, with an introduction by architect Mauricio Vargas, MSc, both doctoral candidates at the University of Bío-Bío.

Seminar: Juan Borchers Revisited

Organized by the Centro para la Arquitectura Constructo – AoA, this seminar features three lectures exploring the figure, theoretical contributions, and built work of Chilean architect Juan Borchers.

Launch of Materia Arquitectura 22: Air

The launch of Materia Arquitectura 22: Aire will take place on Thursday, November 24, at 6:30 PM in the Patio de las Rosas at the Los Leones campus. The event will feature Pedro Ignacio Alonso, guest editor of this issue and head of the PhD program in Architecture and Urban Studies at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Exhibition: The Neighborhood of Our Own / The Pedestrian Reconquest

The NGO La Reconquista Peatonal (LRP) seeks to highlight people's experiences in the city, particularly through walking. To this end, it collects walkers' experiences through mobile paper journals that individuals receive, complete, and return with observations, perceptions, and daily experiences in the city. This process has generated over a thousand journals containing diverse records and relevant information on the multiple relationships between people and their environments, highlighting subjective aspects often overlooked in the urban sphere, such as memory, identity, and affection.

Sabbagh Arquitectos Lecture: Bellavista Neighborhood Technology Hub Project

On Wednesday, August 24, at 6:00 PM, the second event in the lecture series organized by the School of Architecture at the Universidad Andrés Bello's Campus Creativo will take place. The series is led by faculty members Claudia Woywood and Soledad Larraín, with the participation of the Valparaíso Zonal Delegation of the College of Architects and Espacio La Compañía, as part of the "City and Architecture" course.

The Arquitectura Film Festival Santiago marks a milestone as it enters its second decade, inviting reflection on how we live and interact within today's changing landscape. Diploma in Additive Design and Construction
