Dallas: The Latest Architecture and News

The Dallas Architecture Forum will launch its Twentieth Anniversary Season on October 24 with a lecture about the prestigious Aga Khan Award for Architecture. The winners of this triennial competition (grand prize of $1,000,000 USD) were recently announced and include projects by internationally known firms such as Zaha Hadid Architects and BIG Architects, as well as those by rising talent from countries around the world. Winning projects are located in China, Bangladesh, Iran, Lebanon and Denmark.

Join the Dallas Architecture Forum for an afternoon focused on how outstanding design utilizes materials, from common to rare, as integral elements of the design process. Attendees will also learn how leading architects and artists incorporate functionality into their designs, ranging in scale from small sculptures to residences.

Attendees will have the privilege of hearing from two of the most highly regarded practitioners in their fields share insights and lead inspiring discussion on these intriguing topics.

Dallas Architecture Forum, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing public education about architecture, design and the urban environment, will continue its 2015-2016 Panel Discussion Series on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 with “The Social Impact of Greening the City” moderated by Donald Gatzke, who served as Dean of the School of Architecture at the University of Texas at Arlington from 2004 through 2014 and is now a Professor at the university on the faculty.

Dallas Architecture Forum, a non-profit organization for everyone interested in learning about and improving the architecture, design, landscape and urban fabric of the North Texas region is pleased to continue its 2015-16 Lecture Season with esteemed architect Deborah Berke, FAIA, and founding partner of Deborah Berke Partners, a New York City-based architecture and design firm that has completed projects around the world.

The firm specializes in cosmopolitan art-filled hotels for 21c Museum Hotels, buildings related to the arts, residential developments and private homes.

He is the founder of THEVERYMANY™, a New York-based studio engaging Art and Architecture through systematic research and development into applied Computer Science and Digital Fabrication. Fornes creates complex, curvilinear self-supported structures located in France, Canada and the United States. His work is in the permanent collections of the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the FRAC Centre in Orleans, France and in many private collections. He has created private residences and Pop-Up stores for such well-known designers as Louis Vuitton and Irene Neuwirth.
