The sliding over fixed skylight from Glazing Vision offers a solution for roofs with more tight spaces. This skylight is generally split into two sections, with one fixed pane and one sliding pane that moves over it. The design of the skylight allows for the maximum amount of light to enter a space while being able to open up 50% of the footprint for natural ventilation.
The skylight requires suitable balustrades installed in order to be used for access.
Operation
The system is operated via a twin drive rack and pinion that transmits power to the wheels designed with a large diameter on hard anodized tracks, ensuring a smooth motion of travel when opening and closing the skylight. The sliding over fixed features a one way solenoid clutch and built in anti lifting mechanism so the sliding section cannot be forcibly back driven.
Materials
The frame is specified in the standard dual color Qualicoat polyester powder coating with a polyamide thermal break and closed cell PIR insulation. Glazing Vision also offer the option of triple glazing to achieve higher thermal insulation.
