Utrecht Community (UCo) in Utrecht, The Netherlands, is a historic old train shed transformed into a working space for 150 people. In 2017 it was renovated by the architects of Zecc Architecten with the goal of recovering the inherent qualities of the old building, and at the same time increasing its sustainability.
To accomplish the objective of the project, the architects replaced the glazing of the sawtooth roof with VELUX Modular Skylights, which provide daylight and ventilation into the building.
About Northlight 25-90°
This VELUX Modular Skylight, is composed of row modules, that can provide large amounts of glare-free daylight.
Northlight 25-90° is ideal for spaces that require soft light and does not require sub-construction for installation. This solution allows fast and easy closure of the roof, reducing costs, and can be applied in sloped, shed or saw tooth roofs.
