Located at the intersection of the east-west and north-south axes of Chengdu City, the Tianfu Cultural Park covers the Shaocheng and Huangchengba areas, stretching from Donghuamen Street in the east to Xijiao River in the west, and from Junping Street-Xiyu Street-Dongyu Street in the south to Dongmen Street-Yangshi Street-Xiyulong Street in the north. This area is the birthplace and historical and cultural origin of Chengdu's 2,300-year history of urban construction. As a driving project to change the urban pattern of downtown area and reshape the urban form, the Tianfu Cultural Park focuses on optimizing and enhancing the cultural inheritance and innovation function, so as to build into a centralized demonstration place of the world famous cultural city, a key carrier of the Western financial center, and the cultural center of Chengdu’s thousand-year historical iteration.

Madera: Innovation for Social Architecture in Uruguay is an international architecture competition organized by the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning of Uruguay (Ministerio de Vivienda y Ordenamiento Territorial, MVOT) and MEVIR, with the support of the Inter-American Development Bank. The competition is a call for proposals for new low-rise, single family, housing typologies using innovative wood technology. The winning proposal will be built by MEVIR in a demonstration complex of 20 units in the town of Tranqueras, in the Department of Rivera, in the north of Uruguay. The main objective of the competition is to promote and enhance the use of Uruguayan wood as a construction material for social housing, incorporating design and technological innovation, energy efficiency, and sustainability principles.
The basic legal act concerning the reconstruction of the Saski Palace, the Brühl Palace and tenement houses at ul. Królewska in Warsaw is the Act of August 11, 2021 (Journal of Laws of 2021, item 1551) on the preparation and implementation of investments in the reconstruction of the Saski Palace, Brühl Palace and tenement houses at Królewska Street in Warsaw, adopted to "celebrate the jubilee of the 100th anniversary of the rebirth of the independent Republic of Poland, to restore the historic shape of the representative space of Marshal Józef Piłsudski Square in Warsaw, destroyed during World War II, to satisfy the will of Poles and to strengthen the unity of the civic community, symbolized by the rebuilt Saski and Brühl palaces together with the complex of tenement houses at ul. Królewska, and also to complete the work of rebuilding the capital city, destroyed and demolished by the German occupiers, so that those buildings and structures that proudly expressed the sovereignty of the Polish state a hundred years ago would serve Poles both today and in subsequent generations and be a visible sign of the continuity of our history, and at the same time a testimony to a strong and modern Republic of Poland”. Reconstructed facilities must meet the requirements of the Act.
The competition participants are requested to design an innovative Yurt structure informed by and in collaboration with a local Central Asian community that can be built within two (2) months and with an overall budget of CAD$4000. The design must be innovative and practical, aimed to solve a real need by a local community to improve the quality of their life. We invite designs that can be built using local materials but with modest modern technological improvements for joints and other components to increase structural stability and achieve the adoption of new technologies such as off-grid electricity, better thermal insulation, users’ improved comfort and a new look. The idea is that people can still carry, assemble and dismantle the yurts themselves with no specialized help or transportation. The Exhibit Around APS and dotART associations, promoters of the Trieste Photo Days international festival, are launching an Open Call for the 71% - The State of Water project. The participating photographers will have the opportunity to become part of an important dedicated exhibition and to be published in the photographic volume. The project is a photographic tribute to water. «71%» represents the percentage of the earth's surface occupied by Water (source), the essential element for life that Exhibit Around APS aims to celebrate with a new photographic and editorial project to be presented at the tenth edition of Trieste Photo Days from 27 to 29 October 2023. Photographic works must be able to explore the relationship between Man and Water through the photographic genre each author feels closest to. The theme lends itself to innumerable expressive possibilities: • The sea but also natural and artificial waterways (rivers, lakes, reservoirs, etc.) • Water in all its forms and manifestations (rain, ice, snow, vapour, etc.) • The scarcity of water (deserts, droughts, fires, etc.) and the violence of water (floods, floods, tsunamis, etc.). • All social and environmental issues related to water (climate change, waste, the impact of water scarcity on different parts of the planet, etc.) • Water as a source of energy (mills, dams and hydroelectric plants, etc.). • Water as an artistic expression and symbol of Life. 71% – The State of Water also includes a cycle of conferences, meetings and related events, aimed at promoting and presenting the book, the exhibition and the topics addressed.
In 2022, the Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism announced an international Competition for the conceptual urban-architectural design of the Center for the reception of animals from the CITES list and the ZOO with the associated contact zone in Berane, which was open from July 29 to September 30, 2022. Only two entries were submitted to the competition after the expiration of the deadline for the submission of entries. Considering that the minimum number of submitted works defined by the Call for Competition was 3, the Decision on the suspension of the competition procedure for the selection of the Conceptual architectural design of the Center for the reception of animals from the CITES list and the ZOO with the corresponding contact zone in Berane was adopted by the Minister.
Alohana is a company based in Portugal. We specialize in zero-waste, future-driven, nature based materials for the construction and design industry. Currently at 80% we believe in a future of construction made 100% from agricultural waste (plant fibres and soil). This competition is for our next project. We choose the top 3 designs in 5 categories (white/coloured 1-storey buildings, white/coloured 2-storey building, brick 1-storey buildings, brick 2-storey buildings, plyscraper complexes). Key elements for all designs are: energy-efficiency, use-efficiency, combat Sick Building Syndrome, comfort, and sustainable modular design. All designs are welcome since one of the objectives is to show how homes and neighbourhoods with our materials do not differ from traditional buildings in design. Only in comfort, health, and wellbeing. Designs inspired by Portuguese building styles are prefered.

An initiative to construct a Holocaust Memorial in Lyon, France, began in 2019. The project is led by the Association pour l'édification pour un Mémorial de la Shoah à Lyon, with the support of the Région Auvergne-Rhöne-Alpes and the Métropole and the City of Lyon.
The Global Monument Design Competition for the "Goddess of Love" has been officially launched to create a new symbol for the Valley of Love (Vallée d'Amour) in particular and the city of Da Lat in general. The most outstanding design ideas that express the beauty and significance of love will be honored and realized within the tourist area.
The competition is organized by Thanh Thanh Cong Tourist JSC (TTC Hospitality; HOSE: VNG), a member of TTC Group, in collaboration with the Vietnam Design Association HCMC (VDAS) and the Vietnam Design Award (VMARK). With a global scale, the organizers hope that the competition will receive the attention and support of specialized media units both domestically and internationally to contribute to creating a unique wonder that bears the imprint of Vietnam on the world tourism map.
Prefabricated, modular timber construction has emerged as a particularly suitable way for building in existing structures – especially in confined urban spaces. Gaps between buildings can be closed and older ones can be extended in a short time and with little energy and space expenditure. Compared to other building materials, wood is also very light, which is especially important when expanding existing buildings with low static reserves.
The ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture focuses on projects that show how existing buildings can be revitalised, how building materials can be used in a variety of ways, and the innovative climate concepts that can be implemented to provide valuable impetus for more sustainable construction. Recycling, secondary use and appropriately extending the service life – these are the core principles of sustainability, which of course also apply to buildings.

The Property Department of the Riga City Council in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia and the Latvian Architects Association on 18 January 2023 announced the launch of the international architectural competition of RIGA PHILHARMONIC. Interested architects are invited to design the building of RIGA PHILHARMONIC within the historic center of Riga, in a scenic urban environment – in Kronvalda Park, rebuilding the Riga Congress Centre located at Krišjāņa Valdemāra iela 5, Riga.
