Civil and social justice are the two most important fundamentals of human rights. The issues unequal civil rights and social injustice are not confined to a particular region and country but are a global phenomenon. These issues are a result of unequal resource distribution and unfair treatment of individuals with different traits i.e. race, culture, sexual orientation etc. Civil unrest broods violence and forces retaliation against the segregation and unfair laws and rules. The issues of civil and social injustice are more complex as they involve a wide category of issues such as a racial profiling, LGBT rights, equal opportunities (jobs and healthcare), ageism, criminal justice, freedom of speech, social security, immigration, internet privacy, bullying etc. 
The importance of civil rights still remains a non-issue at the global level. The champions of civil rights and social justice are often portrayed as enemies of the state, to hide the government inefficiencies.

RE-Form Product Design Competition 2.0 | Re-Skin

Experiences are intrinsically composed by the tangible and intangible architectures that trigger the senses. It is through this delicate exchange of sensory information that we create lasting impressions from space, objects and interactions. What new exchanges can we envision and suggest through meaningful design? We invite design thinkers to envision new modalities for exchange.

Propose an innovative “skin” in which humans could interact with their surrounding environments and everyday activities through the different intertwined senses. The proposed “skin”/ product could be at any scale and serve any function that the designer envisions.

Call for Entries: Kip Island Auditorium

The Riga Exhibition Centre is one of the largest in the northern region of Eastern Europe. The Expo Centre is situated in Kipsala, also known as Kip Island, which is located at the heart of the Latvian capital. The Exhibition Centre currently houses two large exhibition halls, conference rooms and smaller meeting rooms, and has recently announced plans to further expand its facilities.

A Forward-Minded Retrospective: Cedric Price Works – 1953-2003

Cedric Price Works 1952-2003: A Forward-Minded Retrospective, written and edited by Samantha Hardingham, is a two-volume anthology bringing together for the first time all of the projects, articles and talks by British architect Cedric Price. Co-published by the Architectural Association (AA) and the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA), the publication will be launched on 14th October 2016, celebrating Price’s illustrious career as an influential thinker, philosopher, teacher and architect.
