Book Launch: Three Houses: Design Strategies

Romano Guerra Editora and Galeria Gomide&Co are launching the book Três casas: estratégias de projeto (Three Houses: Design Strategies). The publication explores the design methodologies of three contemporary architecture firms—Pezo von Ellrichshausen, Ryue Nishizawa, and Aires Mateus—to understand each architect's modus operandi through experimental houses: the Poli House (Coliumo Peninsula, Chile, 2005), the Moriyama House (Tokyo, Japan, 2005), and the House in Coruche (Portugal, 2007). These projects point toward an expansion of the architectural lexicon that transcends classical movements—such as modernism and postmodernism—by introducing new aspects: spatial neutrality, ambivalence in the design of boundaries, and the tensioning of abstract forms.
