América Cupello, Andréa Facchini, Antônia Philippsen, Carlota Philippsen, Clarisse Tarran, Claudia Watkins, Ecila Huste, Edineusa Bezerril, Esther Barki, Grasi Fernasky, Lia do Rio, Maria Pitú, Monica Barki, and Pérola Bonfanti make up the "team" assembled by Paulo Branquinho for the group exhibition "Elas" (Them/Women). The show marks the July 8th reopening of the gallery bearing the producer's name, which had been closed since the pandemic. The feminine universe is represented by these 14 artists, who will present their work through a variety of styles and techniques. Drawing from distinct visual languages, they initiate a dialogue on diversity through paintings, photographs, objects, and installations.
Pérola Bonfanti, for instance, allows her work to expand beyond the limits of the canvas, transforming the space into part of the piece itself. Monica Barki presents her large-scale photographic work "Dream," from the series Arquitetura do Secreto/Desejo (Architecture of the Secret/Desire), which stimulates the observers' fantasies through their own interpretations. Guest artist from Mato Grosso do Sul, Carlota Philippsen, brings photography and digital art pieces: Beija Boi and Capivara Inusitada. Lia do Rio drew inspiration from Cézanne and his series of paintings of Mont Sainte-Victoire, which is why the photo-collage of a mountain she views from her window is titled in French.
