Titled “Paulo: Beyond the Drawing,” the exhibition at the Casa Gallery offers visitors a broader perspective on the Brazilian architect’s worldview and the reflections on the many themes that engaged them—themes that, ultimately, define their work.
Rather than following a linear biographical narrative or focusing solely on building typologies, the exhibition is structured around the expanding geographies of the projects designed by Paulo Mendes da Rocha alongside their partners and colleagues between the 1960s and 2010.
Concurrently, the exhibition nave hosts “Constructed Geographies: Paulo Mendes da Rocha.” These two exhibitions will be accompanied by a program of activities curated by architect Nuno Sampaio, Executive Director and Commissioner-General of the CA, and architect Catherine Otondo, who is responsible for organizing the Paulo Mendes da Rocha archive.
