As part of the ongoing series Design Museum Mornings, this session will feature Maggie Cooper, City Initiatives manager at KaBOOM!, a nonprofit focused on bringing balanced and active play into the daily lives of all children. Join Cooper for a candid conversation as she shares how to bring communities together through initiatives like group playground builds and playability walks, especially for children growing up in poverty. KidsBuild! will be held at BSA Space on Saturday, April 9 and Sunday April 10. Guided by professional architects, families will choose a construction site from a fictional city grid, design and build a building, and be awarded a certificate of occupancy from the city building inspectors.
‘DESIGNURU’ organized by the Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID), Bangalore, will be a combined initiative of citizens of the city in making the public a part of an art and design based initiative. On the evening of Sunday, May 8th, Storefront for Art and Architecture’s 2016 Spring Benefit, BEYOND BORDERS, will be the last public event to be held at the iconic terminal before its redevelopment.

This Was Tomorrow is an exhibition about architectural imagination and the power, processes and poetics of creation and invention. It presents a series of twelve episodes—beginning in the 1950s—that look at the ferment of new ideas as architects began to re-conceive space in response to the conditions of a newly affluent society and the emergence of the electronic age.
Each of these investigations—from Le Corbusier’s late new harmony of form, to Aldo Rossi’s evocations of the force of history—looks into the basic elements, open futures and varied possibilities of architectural thinking, proposing fundamental new ideas and examining the potential of the built environment to reform the relations of humans to each other and to their environments.

The British Twentieth Century Society (C20) have announced a forthcoming conference in London on Postmodernism. Speakers including Sir Terry Farrell, Piers Gough and Charles Holland (Ordinary Architecture) will join Alan Powers, Emily Gee and Elain Harwood of Historic England to "raise the profile of Britain’s best Postmodernist buildings following concerns over proposed changes to leading examples of this much maligned style."
Gaëtan Le Penhuel & Associés was created in 1994, following a successful proposal for a Europan 3 project in Reims. Twenty years on, having delivered several major projects, we would like to look back on our work through an exhibition at the Galerie d’Architecture, twinned with a special issue of the magazine Archistorm.
