Ragdale Ring Project: Contemporary Redesign of Historic Performance Space

Ragdale, the nationally acclaimed artists’ residency in Lake Forest, Illinois invites architects, designers and artists to apply for the opportunity to design, build, and exhibit the 2017 Ragdale Ring, a temporary outdoor theatre to house summer concerts, performances, and events. Ragdale seeks proposals for a full-scale project and installation that consider contemporary, fanciful and functional interpretations of the original Ragdale Ring, designed by architect Howard Van Doren Shaw in 1912 as a garden theatre.

Stone Barn Meditation Camp

The Stone Barn Meditation Camp architecture competition is a partnership with SRED property developers to create a multipurpose recreational space. Participants are tasked with presenting ideas for a venue, which focuses on wellness tourism and offers holistic outlets such as meditation and yoga.

Jeff Harnar Award for Contemporary Architecture in New Mexico

The Jeff Harnar Award for Contemporary Architecture is now accepting submissions for the 2017 award cycle. This is the 10th year of this award that honors the late Jeff Harnar, known for his groundbreaking design in contemporary architecture in Santa Fe, NM. The Jeff Harnar Award is a prestigious award in the architectural profession and offers one of the top prize amounts in the country, awarding the winner a $10,000 cash prize.

Radical Innovation Awards

Radical Innovation, a platform promoting disruptive, industry-
changing ideas within the hotel space, announces the opening of the annual Radical Innovation Award for 2017. Professionals and students are invited to submit their ideas online January 17th through April 22nd.

Design Competition and Intervention at Revellín Plaza at Concéntrico 03

Concéntrico is Logroño’s Architecture and Design Festival. It is open to residents of the city and visitors from elsewhere, and it aims to discover and rediscover spaces of interest in the city’s Historic Center. The Festival invites attendees to tour these spaces through installations that create a connection between inner courtyards, tucked-away spaces and small plazas that, in the day-to-day, tend to go unnoticed.

Call for Submissions: ASF Award 2017

Architecture Sans Frontières International (ASF-Int) Award was founded in the purpose of sharing the most efficient solutions developed by architects globally to the many social, environmental and economic challenges facing the built environment. The goal of the award is to promote those solutions among the design profession and the general public, which will encourage an exchange of ideas and challenge the profession to develop the construction of social facilities and infrastructure.

Call for Entries: Tamayouz International Award 2017

Tamayouz Excellence Award is delighted to invite students of Architecture / Urban / Architecture Technology / Landscape Design worldwide to register and submit their Graduation Projects. An independent international jury will review all entries and will select the winners of Tamayouz International Award 2017. Prizes include: An MSc Scholarship for 2 Years at the Polytechnic University of Milan, 2 scholarships for the Stadslab (European Urban Design Laboratory) master classes, Medals for 7 Honorable Mentions, supervisor the Year Medal, University of the Year Medallion. Call for Ideas: Left Bank Antwerp

The city architect of Antwerp, Christian Rapp, organises an international urban design competition on the future development of Linkeroever (the Left Bank). The Left Bank is an exceptional part of Antwerp. It is an urban district, born from a patchwork of plans that were only partially executed. Today, high-rise housing blocks are situated next to villas and zones for recreation. A major asset of Linkeroever is the open and green character. On the other hand it is a residential area with few mixed use. Recently, Linkeroever has been given renewed attention thanks to projects such as Regatta, IGLO-Europark, masterplan Sint-Anneke, etc. However, a general framework ensuring the connection between these and future projects does not exist.

The artist residency SPOT 13 offers the opportunity to artists from all the world to access the artistic and cultural scene in Cartagena, known by its human heritage (UNESCO) and main cultural and touristic district of Colombia. Cartagena has been the center of Colombian tourism and represents one of the main Colombian cultural heritage from colonial Spanish times.

Post Fossil City Contest

Tallinn Architecture Biennale 2017 have announced the TAB 2017 Vision Competition, offering architects, scientists and artists the chance to define a new urbanity of the Paljassaare Peninsula in Tallinn in the era when no ecosystem is unaffected by human action.
