The Union of architects of Russia invites you to participate in the Russian competition with international participation «Aluminum in architecture 2020», which will be held as a part
of the 2d international forum «Aluminum in Architecture and Construction» / AlumForum 2020 from May 19-21, 2020 in the Technopark Skolkovo simultaneously with the 3d international forum of architectural glass industry ArchGlass 2020.

This is the only competition in Russia that demonstrates the capabilities of aluminum in realized projects and the prospects for its use in architecture and construction.

The Royal Scottish Academy is delighted to announce that the RSA Open Exhibition of Architecture is returning as part of the 194th RSA Annual Exhibition!

The Open Architecture element aims to showcase some of the most interesting architectural practices from across Scotland and beyond. Online submissions are now open for the 2020 exhibition for works of any scale and in any suitable architectural medium, including models, architectural drawings, photography and film/animations.

Analogously, conflicts and financial crises persist and lead to the development of serious humanitarian emergencies which put the lives of millions of people at risk. A3/Archives of African Architecture and the Aga Khan Documentation Center, MIT Libraries are looking for people who are able to bring the general public in Africa and beyond to a mainstream understanding of architecture and its relation to culture through writing about built heritage. The recipients of this award will join the A3 – Archnet team in this project, starting with a fully funded weeklong trip to Boston, Massachusetts to work with the staff of the Aga Khan Documentation Center, MIT Libraries, to build a database on African Architecture.

Privatisation of public land is a growing phenomenon in cities such as London. More and more communal spaces are being sold to public bodies or developers, resulting in them becoming the primary makers of modern cities. This transformation has been giving rise to privately owned public spaces (POPS), a term to describe spaces open to the public, formed from deals between the city and the developer in return for zoning concessions. Architects, designers and sheet metal contractors are invited to submit their copper building projects for the 2020 North American Copper in Architecture (NACIA) awards program. The program recognizes and promotes architectural copper and copper alloy structures in North America. Eligible projects must feature a significant application of architectural copper, be located in the North America and have been completed within the past three years.

Winners will receive a custom copper plaque featuring an etching of their award-winning project. Projects will be featured on the Copper Development Association’s website and promoted in various publications.
