For decades, the seaside activity and the privatization of the seashores have participated in the transformation of the French and international coasts by the construction of facilities inherent to these mass tourist flows. Whether fortunate or unfortunate, these constructions have often had a negative impact on their environment and the stability of the surrounding biodiversity. It is therefore essential today to reduce the environmental impact of this activity. The challenge of the competition will be to find sufficiently innovative architectural responses to limit the environmental impact of construction and allow the development of biodiversity.

Tanzania suffers from a terrible shortage of good quality and affordable housing. So dire is this shortage that the nation currently carries a 3 million housing deficit coupled with a 200.000 unit annual demand. Over seventy percent of its urban residents live in unplanned and unserviced informal settlements.

With that in mind, Archstorming is looking for a housing design to be implemented not only in Tanzania, but also in other African countries where housing is an increasing problem.

Ragdale, the nationally acclaimed artist residency program in Lake Forest, Illinois, invites architects, artists, and designers to apply for the opportunity to design, build, and exhibit the 2020 Ragdale Ring, a temporary theatre to house summer concerts, performances, and events. We are seeking inventive, site-responsive, large-scale submissions that explore intersections of architecture, sculpture, landscape, public art, and performance disciplines. MICROSCAPES is an international architecture, art, and design competition organized by the Inter-American Development Bank and the Municipality of Rio Negro, Uruguay, in Fray Bentos, an ex-industrial site declared UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2015.
The objective of the competition is to activate an open space within the
industrial complex to enhance its historical, cultural and touristic value.
Architects, designers, landscapers, craftsmen, citizens, businessmen, are
invited to propose an ephemeral installation for one of the central spaces
of the area; a tactical project that may become a place of encounter, rest,
contemplation, recreation, for the residents and visitors of Fray Bentos.

The competition is open to

The competition is open to any and all architects actively registered in the United States. The contest is also open to Associate members of the AIA, and student members of AIAS in good standing. Professional Affiliate or Allied members are not eligible. Entries submitted by ineligible individuals will not be processed; images will not be returned and no refund of the entry fee will be made.

DETAIL is awarding the international DETAIL Prize 2020, and in doing so once again recognising the importance of innovative details for the overall design concept.

The DETAIL Prize is awarded for future-oriented, innovative and authoritative projects with outstanding architectural and technical qualities. From 2 March to 30 April 2020, planners can submit projects realised anywhere in the world for all building types that are characterised by special details within a coherent overall concept at www.detail-online.com/detailprize. The vision for the project is to build unique and landmark strip mall in AlShati area in Dammam city, Saudi Arabia. to attract high level tenants of retail shops and F&B shops, with dynamic and eye catchy outdoor spaces (terraces, landscape, hardscape & parking area). Alsalimi is looking for dynamic, functional & attractive design and with cost efficient.

of the 2d international forum «Aluminum in Architecture and Construction» / AlumForum 2020 from May 19-21, 2020 in the Technopark Skolkovo simultaneously with the 3d international forum of architectural glass industry ArchGlass 2020.

This is the only competition in Russia that demonstrates the capabilities of aluminum in realized projects and the prospects for its use in architecture and construction.

Tote Board has launched a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a comprehensive Master Plan to guide the redevelopment of the Singapore Racecourse into a compelling integrated leisure and recreational destination. Coffee plants grew wild in Ethiopia and were used by nomadic tribes for thousands of years, only until the 1400s when people figured out that they could roast its seeds.
