Open Call for Art on the Parkway

The Association for Public Art and the Parkway Council, in partnership with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, are thrilled to announce an Open Call for Art on the Parkway. This is a juried competition that asks applicants to propose a temporary public art installation in Maja Park that will be on exhibit for approximately three months as part of the annual summer Oval festival. The Basque Country Architecture Institute and Arc en Rêve Centre d'Architecture, with the support of the Department of Territorial Planning, Housing and Transport of the Basque Government, have announced the first edition of the European Collective Housing Award. This new award aims to highlight the value of collective housing as a cornerstone of the architectural heritage of an entire continent, and to promote innovation, inclusion and environmental responsibility in its design. Submissions are now being accepted until 7 May, 2024.

The aim is to showcase the architecture of collective housing constructions and their positive impact on society, while raising awareness of the importance of housing policies and their constant renewal. The competition seeks to identify an innovative architectural practice to design a public pavilion for the Devonshire Gardens development in Cambridge. Following the assessment of an open Expression of Interest, 4 to 5 practices will be invited to proceed to the ideas phase of the competition.
