Text description provided by the architects. The Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) is a part of a Ready-Made garments (RMG) complex in a brownfield site banked by the river Shitalakhya. Muslin Cotton Mills was a state-owned industry established during the 1950s which was auctioned off to a private industrialist in 2013, to be redeveloped. The previous industrial presence had led to extreme groundwater depletion in the area as well as river pollution due to direct effluent discharge.
