Text description provided by the architects. DAGA Café is located on the ground floor of a communist residential 5-story building in Downtown Shanghai. Even if the building is located in the heart of the former French concession it has no particular architectural value. The space has a U shape around the public staircase of the building and was highly influenced by the presence of a sequence of beams and pipes hanging1 meter below the ceiling.
