If you are up for a trip outside the city, an hour train ride and $16 (if you pre-purchase a ticket), you will arrive in Plano, Illinois the site of  The Farnsworth House / Mies van der Rohe

    Can’t believe you left off anything from the first wave of Chicago architecture. The Rookery, Monadnock, Reliance, and Auditorium buildings are all must-sees.

      Don’t forget the Glessner House, there are’t too many Richardson’s left out there.

      And I have to agree on the Farnsworth – easily worth the drive

    The Aqua Tower looks nice from this particular angle. But from a distance, it doesn’t look outstanding. And based on what I’ve seen from the street level, the quality of craftmanship of the facade is not top notch.
