Archistart promotes the second Architectural Thesis Award, the international thesis award, launched with the aim of promoting, rewarding and giving visibility to young talents in architecture. The first edition of the Architectural Thesis Award ATA2017 was a great success among young talents in architecture. There were 174 participants from different nationalities with 119 projects. The award includes a grant of € 2,000 in cash and the chance to participate in Archistart contests and workshops free of charge. Archistart also promotes a social contest on its portal: prizes consist of free participation to IAHsummer2018 (International Architecture Holiday) or free admission to an
2018 AIA National Photography Competition was founded to highlight the photographic skills of architects and AIA members, while also focusing on the beauty of architecture around the world.
Open to all AIA members: AIAS, Associate AIA and AIA. Also open to architects actively registered in the US.

A call for entries is now being made for the Tenth European Prize for Urban Public Space, 2018. Since 2000 this biennial honorific award has aimed to recognise, promote and publicise examples of good practice in dealing with the many challenges faced by public spaces in European cities. The Prize aims to support the open, compact city of universal access, guaranteeing harmonious coexistence among its citizens, a mixture of uses, and sustainable mobility, preserving the historical memory of places, and favouring participation of citizens in projects designing shared spaces.
The award ceremony for the Prix Versailles, the world architecture award for stores, hotels, and restaurants, will be held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France, on 15 May 2018.

Make, the Sir John Soane’s Museum and the World Architecture Festival (WAF) have come together to create a prize for architectural drawing. The Prize recognises the continuing importance of hand drawing but also embraces creative use of digitally produced renderings.
The Architecture Drawing Prize welcomes entries from architects, designers and students from around the world while celebrating drawing’s significance as a tool in capturing and communicating ideas.

The Society of Architectural Historians’ prestigious H. Allen Brooks Travelling Fellowship will be offered for 2017 and will allow a recent graduate or emerging scholar to study by travel for one year. The fellowship is not for the purpose of doing research for an advanced academic degree. Instead, Professor Brooks intended the recipient to study by travel and contemplation while observing, reading, writing, or sketching.
