Call for Entries: DSGN Innovation Hub Scheme in Bali, Indonesia - International Competition 2018
DSGN (Design Student Global Network) officially launches its first international design competition! The winning proposal - an Innovation Hub development scheme for a rural community site in Bali, Indonesia - is to be built as part of the first series of international design workshops, beginning in early 2019. The center will then be used by the local community-based Five Pillar Foundation to collaborate and disseminate their skills classes for community development and social entrepreneurship.

One fundamental challenge within the current relief assistance model for refugee populations is the separation between inhabitants and local communities. IDeA invites innovative minds around the world to propose spatial design and programmatic solutions that provide opportunities for refugees and local communities to strengthen ties while enabling self-agency.

COOK8 has as its subject the design of an interior dining space for 8 people, of an area of 24 - 30m2. The space must include: - a preparation area (conservation, readying, preparation, cleaning, storage of foodstuffs and utensils) - a consumption area - a hygiene area (WC and washbasin, together or separate). RESONATE A Conference on Architecture, Art and Sound by MAAT and reSITE in collaboration with Meyer Sound
MAAT Museum and reSITE partner on a Conference on Architecture, Art and Sound and will bring world’s best creators of sound spaces and acoustic experiences to Lisbon. During a one-day international event in collaboration with Berkeley, California’s Meyer Sound, we will be thinking about sound and space with architects of the most fascinating contemporary music and culture venues and designers of intriguing sound environments. Young architects and designers are invited to submit work to the annual Architectural League Prize Competition. Projects of all types, either theoretical or real, and executed in any medium, are welcome. The jury will select work for presentation in lectures, digital media, and an exhibition in June 2018. Winners will receive a cash prize of $2,000.

The medians of Park Avenue, or the “centerlines,” are traditionally characterized by plantings and periodic sculpture installations. Park Avenue medians represent a traditional element of New York City but also provide an opportunity for reinvention.
