“Architects After Architecture”

The Daniels Faculty at the University of Toronto and Black Students in Design (BSD) are launching a 10-week mentorship program called Building Black Success through Design (BBSD). BBSD is a free mentorship + design competition created by Black students for Black students interested in design and architecture. Participants in this program will work with Black architecture and design university students who will act as mentors, guiding them through a series of workshops that reflect each step of the design competition. The Social Communication Coordination, in collaboration with the Cultural Diffusion Coordination and the Library and Archives Coordination of the UNAM Faculty of Architecture, held a campaign throughout November to commemorate the 240-year history of the Academia de San Carlos and the 40th anniversary of the Faculty of Architecture.

The OODA collective opened its ‘Ten Years OODA’ exhibition last Saturday, November 27, following the launch of the book ‘X!?’ in celebration of the collective’s 10 years of practice.

In this edition, in addition to the superquadra blocks, public and private schools participated. The public—building managers, condominium administrators, residents, and other interested parties—was also able to submit nominations online. All nominations were reviewed by the CAU/DF Temporary Heritage Commission between August and early November, resulting in the selection of 30 buildings that stood out for their historical value, the well-maintained state of their facades, outdoor areas, pilotis, and other analytical criteria.

PENSARQ_ invites architects, interior designers, and designers to the event "AFICIONES" with renowned architect Salvador Macías. In an intimate talk, he will review the elements that motivate his professional practice by revisiting some of the books that have inspired him throughout his career.

Article 25’s 10x10 online art auction is open for bidding and will be accessible until 8.30 pm on the 1^st of December. Now in its eleventh year, 10x10 features work from over 100 artists, architects, sculptors, photographers, and designers offering their reflections on our urban outdoor spaces and bringing together the likes of Banksy and Sir Antony Gormley, with leading architects including Sir David Adjaye. Proceeds will go towards Article 25’s humanitarian design and build projects focusing on housing, safe schools and effective clinics and hospitals worldwide.

4th MEETING | LATIN AMERICAN CONVERSATIONS: DESIGN PROCESSES WITH ARCHITECTS CÍNTIA AND DEBORAH LINS

This year marks the sixtieth anniversary of the Casa en Jean Mermoz, a cornerstone of Chilean residential architecture, built on Jean Mermoz Street in the Las Condes district and demolished in 1992. Its architect, Fabio Cruz Prieto, pioneered a highly distinctive approach to conceiving, designing, and constructing architecture, in which every part and stage of the work was simultaneously autonomous and complementary.

The Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Universidad de los Andes (Colombia) and Compensar extend a special invitation to the second academic housing forum: Quality and Productivity in the Habitat: Ideas for Rethinking Social Housing.

This lecture series, which we call FOCO (launched in 2020), seeks to highlight both commonalities and diversities surrounding a single theme within our discipline. The event will be held in person this Thursday, November 11, at 6:30 PM at the Museo de Arquitectura y Diseño (MARQ), located at Av. Del Libertador 999, at the corner of Av. Callao, in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.

Arquitectura en Corto invites you to the screening of 'The Divine Way' on November 30 at 7:00 PM at the CTAV headquarters (Colegio Territorial de Arquitectos de Valencia, C/Hernán Cortés, 6). The award-winning short film by director Ilaria di Carlo serves as a tribute to the staircase as an architectural element, exploring various classical and contemporary buildings located primarily in Berlin. It is both a conceptual and aesthetic journey.

Days of Oris is an international architectural festival organized by Oris House of Architecture, held since 2001. Every year, it gathers more than 2000 participants – architects and professionals from the related fields. So far, more than 300 leading experts and speakers from all over the world have participated in the Festival.

The Institute of Architects of Brazil - Department of São Paulo (IABsp) opens a call for papers for the 13th edition of the International Architecture Biennale of São Paulo, with the purpose of bringing together proposals for the exhibition Produções Insurgentes (Insurgent Productions), which will take place in the city of São Paulo in May 21 to July 10, 2022.

The competition is a collaboration between RESOLVE Collective, the Royal Borough of Greenwich, and Historic England's High Streets Heritage Action Zone programme in Woolwich and invites both groups and individuals to apply, prioritising 'first-time designers' and collaborations with local residents. Applicants' physical designs will be installed across a variety of available locations between the town centre and the river, while digital designs will be exhibited on the competition website.
