Building Black Success Through Design

The Daniels Faculty at the University of Toronto and Black Students in Design (BSD) are launching a 10-week mentorship program called Building Black Success through Design (BBSD). BBSD is a free mentorship + design competition created by Black students for Black students interested in design and architecture. Participants in this program will work with Black architecture and design university students who will act as mentors, guiding them through a series of workshops that reflect each step of the design competition. 240th Anniversary of the Academia de San Carlos and 40th Anniversary of the Faculty of Architecture

CAU/DF Seal - Architecture of Brasília 2021

In this edition, in addition to the superquadra blocks, public and private schools participated. The public—building managers, condominium administrators, residents, and other interested parties—was also able to submit nominations online. All nominations were reviewed by the CAU/DF Temporary Heritage Commission between August and early November, resulting in the selection of 30 buildings that stood out for their historical value, the well-maintained state of their facades, outdoor areas, pilotis, and other analytical criteria.

Leading architects join Banksy and Sir Antony Gormley for Article 25’s flagship online auction fundraiser

Article 25’s 10x10 online art auction is open for bidding and will be accessible until 8.30 pm on the 1st of December. Now in its eleventh year, 10x10 features work from over 100 artists, architects, sculptors, photographers, and designers offering their reflections on our urban outdoor spaces and bringing together the likes of Banksy and Sir Antony Gormley, with leading architects including Sir David Adjaye. Proceeds will go towards Article 25’s humanitarian design and build projects focusing on housing, safe schools and effective clinics and hospitals worldwide.

On Display: Jean Mermoz House, 60 Years

This year marks the sixtieth anniversary of the Casa en Jean Mermoz, a cornerstone of Chilean residential architecture, built on Jean Mermoz Street in the Las Condes district and demolished in 1992. Its architect, Fabio Cruz Prieto, pioneered a highly distinctive approach to conceiving, designing, and constructing architecture, in which every part and stage of the work was simultaneously autonomous and complementary.

13th International Architecture Biennale of São Paulo launches Insurgent Productions - Open Call for Works

The Institute of Architects of Brazil - Department of São Paulo (IABsp) opens a call for papers for the 13th edition of the International Architecture Biennale of São Paulo, with the purpose of bringing together proposals for the exhibition Produções Insurgentes (Insurgent Productions), which will take place in the city of São Paulo in May 21 to July 10, 2022.

Reclaim the River- Woolwich Community Design Competition

The competition is a collaboration between RESOLVE Collective, the Royal Borough of Greenwich, and Historic England's High Streets Heritage Action Zone programme in Woolwich and invites both groups and individuals to apply, prioritising 'first-time designers' and collaborations with local residents. Applicants' physical designs will be installed across a variety of available locations between the town centre and the river, while digital designs will be exhibited on the competition website.
