4th MEETING | LATIN AMERICAN CONVERSATIONS: DESIGN PROCESSES WITH ARCHITECTS CÍNTIA AND DEBORAH LINS
We invite everyone to the fourth and final meeting of the series "Latin American Conversations: Design Processes." Organized by the extension project "Design Processes of Contemporary Architects" within the Mackenzie Graduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism, and coordinated by Prof. Ana Gabriela Godinho Lima, PhD, in partnership with the "Arqtetatlas" collective, the event will take place on Thursday, November 25, at 6:30 PM, featuring architects Cíntia and Deborah Lins from Ceará.
Cíntia Lins and Deborah Lins are founding partners of the firm Lins Arquitetos, alongside Jorge and George Lins, based in Juazeiro do Norte, in the southern region of the Ceará hinterlands. Their practice integrates local and traditional elements into arrangements aligned with contemporary design. Among other themes, they address the region's climatic challenges through architectural devices, focusing on roof development for improved airflow management, the use of perforated elements to ensure constant ventilation, and the incorporation of verandas and open spaces, all integrated into the project program.
The "Unileão School-Gym" project has been widely recognized, receiving numerous national and international awards, most notably the 2019 IABsp Award and the 2020 AkzoNobel Award, presented by the Instituto Tomie Ohtake.
