The Office

The first edition of a book series called “The Office”. A book that looks behind the scenes and gives an insight into the architectural offices. It is not dedicated to their buildings, but rather portrays the creators, the creative people whose intellectual work lays the foundation for the creation of a building. The result is an authentic photographic report, taken from the knowledge-hungry perspective of a secret observer, a voyeurist of good design.

Open All-Russian Competition with International Participation for a Concept of a Tourism Cluster in the Village of Oymyakon, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Russia

Oymyakon is famous as one of the Poles of Cold and is on the list of inhabited places with the most extreme conditions for human life. The notorious cold of Yakutia attracts tourists from all over the planet, including world celebrities. Oymyakon has already seen visits from Hollywood actors Tom Hardy and Ewan McGregor.
The Competition will bring together Russian and international experts in the fields of architecture, design, and development of tourism clusters, in order to uncover the potential of Oymyakon as a world center for extreme tourism. The results of the competition will be presented at the Fifth Eastern Economic Forum, which will be held on September 4–6, 2019.

Wood Summit Småland 2019 and Architecture of Necessity

Welcome to Wood Summit Småland, this year ONE day – June 27. Wood Summit Småland is a seminar on the opening of the exhibition Architecture of Necessity in which projects from the international competition with the same name are exhibited.

The theme of the competition 2019 is:
”Considering the most pressing issues of today the jury would especially love to see entries that deal with the rural context – reactivation of forgotten places both with the transformation of existing buildings and with new typologies, for example combining living, work and 'freespace'.”

Swim City

The exhibition «Swim City», held at the S AM Swiss Architecture Museum from the 25th of May to the 29th of September 2019, is the first to draw attention to a particular contemporary phenomenon in urban space: river swimming as a mass movement. Swiss cities have played a leading role in the development of this activity over the last few decades, gradually opening up the river as a natural public space within the built environment. The river has thereby become a place of leisure, open to all, located right in front of residents’ doors and seamlessly integrated into everyday life. The rest of the world looks on in awe at this bathing culture, seeing it as an example of how waterways in cities can be reclaimed for the people in order to sustainably improve the quality of life in urban centers.

Expo 2023 Ideas Competition: “International Pavilions + Creative Industries Campus”

International Pavilions” is the third of six international ideas competitions for the construction of the Expo 2023 buildings, which were awarded to Argentina following a vote at the General Assembly of the BIE (Bureau International des Expositions).

From June 4 through Monday, July 22, all architects wishing to participate may submit design proposals for the International Pavilions complex, which will be converted into a Creative Business Campus following the exhibition.

Talk: Urbanism and Gender Perspective: Basic Concepts for Debate

To foster reflection and the exchange of ideas and perspectives, the Universidad de Flores will host the talk “Urbanism and Gender Perspective: Basic Notions for Debate” on Monday, June 10. Featuring presentations by academics and specialists, the event aims to address a topic already established on the public agenda through the lens of urbanism.

Exhibition "Casas Paulistas: 2000–2017" explores the space of dreams in São Paulo architecture

The Campus Universitario di Matera opens the exhibition Casas Paulistas: 2000 - 2017 today, June 5. The exhibition is part of a series of Brazilian showcases in the 2019 European Capital of Culture. Curated by Romullo Baratto and conceived by Ruben Otero, the exhibition brings together 12 projects of houses in São Paulo built since the turn of the century.

Expo 2023 Ideas Competition: "Mini-Stadium and International Pavilion"

From May 28 to July 15, the second of six calls for entries for the International Ideas Competition for Expo 2023 is open. Open to all architecture professionals, this submission phase focuses on the design and renovation of the existing Mini-Stadium and International Pavilion.
