Postgraduate Master in Curatorship of Architecture and Design
The role of the Curator requires a comprehensive and multifaceted training that allows them to move in different contexts and platforms. The contemporary Curator investigates and identifies relevant issues and their relationships to, then, launch through exhibitions a narrative capable of catching the audience’s interest. A Curator’s work, therefore, encourages reflection and promotes new ways of perceiving and understanding architecture and design. The Master in Curatorship of Architecture and Design at IUAV (Venice, Italy) aims to train professionals capable of developing curatorial projects with a solid foundation in theory and critical thinking, coupled with a strong knowledge of strategies in exhibition making.

Virtually unknown until just a few years ago, Hilma af Klint produced her first abstract paintings in 1906, years ahead of traditional abstract pioneers like Kandinsky and Mondrian. 110 years later, she is still waiting for her due recognition - and a home for her collection. A Temple for Hilma seeks to address this by asking participants to imagine an art museum dedicated to Hilma af Klint and her work.

What is Narrative in Practice all about? What is narrative for you, in your practice? How can stories or story–telling be of use to a design process? Where do your narratives come from? Are they important to the success of your project? Within creative practice, ‘narrative’ is a subjective and elusive term, and has a wide variety of meanings. As curators we understand narrative to be a tool that creative individuals can use in their process and outcome.

Although these transitions are essential steps in the renewal of cities for the 21st century, worksites are disruptive both to the economic activities of business communities and to the daily lives of citizens.
