Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology Architecture and Design Innovation Workshop—Berlin Project
This summer, the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology (BIFT) Architecture and Design Innovation Workshop will continue its participation in the university architectural design studio program in Berlin, organized by ANCB. BIFT is currently seeking 3-5 students to join the workshop.
The event aims to draft the "Letter from Architects and Urban Planners to the 2018 Election Candidates, in defense of the Right to the City"
Renowned Brazilian architects and urban planners, including Paulo Mendes da Rocha, will gather in São Paulo for two days in early July. Alongside approximately 300 other professionals, they will work to draft the "Charter of Architects and Urban Planners to the 2018 Election Candidates, in Defense of the Right to the City"—a long-standing and permanent agenda for the profession since the first Brazilian Congress of Architects, organized by the IAB in 1945, which marked the definition of social function as a priority in the field.

The architect and urban planner, a professor at FAUUSP, will attend the opening of the Academic Week of Architecture and Urbanism at the Instituto de Educação Superior da Paraíba (IESP), taking place on April 23.
The exhibition features urban choreographies, crossings, confluences, incursions, paths, demarcations, disseminaries, and celebrations carried out by Terreyro between 2014 and 2017.

As part of the launch initiatives for the 1st Instituto Tomie Ohtake Leroy Merlin Design Award, the "Contemporary Design" symposium brings together a series of guests and experts to debate three key themes. The discussion begins with the theme of "sharing," featuring Celso Longo and Gustavo Piqueira, who will address the day-to-day realities of their professional practice. This is followed by a discussion on the relationship between design and technology with Cláudio Bueno and H.D. Mabuse, and concludes with a panel on design and sustainability featuring Hugo França and Jackson Araújo.
School of Architecture, San Sebastián University [EA USS]
Titled 'Work' and held as part of the Architectural Culture Lecture Series [CCCA] at the EA USS, architects Loreto Lyon [Beals Lyon Arquitectos] and Tomás Villalón [Tomás Villalón Arquitecto] will discuss workspaces, their architecture, and their relationship with the city. On this occasion, the architects will present the Metro Plaza de Armas building and the Providencia Municipal Building, respectively. The panel will be moderated by USS academic Paula Orta.

On June 2nd, the "Musée de la Romanité" will open to the public in Nîmes, France. The project was designed by Brazilian architect and urban planner Elizabeth de Portzamparc, who won the international competition held by the city's municipal government in 2012.

From April 23 to 27, 2018, the Minas Gerais-based collective Micrópolis will host the Urban Interventions Workshop for the Pós DAEE program. This activity is organized by the Graduate Program in Design and Architecture of Ephemeral Spaces and will be part of the program for the IESP Academic Week of Architecture and Urbanism.
Starting today, Sesc São Paulo is hosting the Arquite-Tô project, which invites the public to imagine how the arts and architecture can articulate knowledge and more democratic ways of building, inhabiting, and enjoying space.

Two architects who curate the Chilean Architecture Biennial (and do not build), an architect involved in parametric design, and an architect from Concepción working in the publishing world will be the guests for the fourth session and 2018 closing event of the #XFORMAS project. The event will take place in the heart of Santiago on Thursday, December 6, at 7:00 p.m. at AriztiaLAB.

Since 2016, Sesc São Paulo and the UK’s Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London—a global leader in art and design—have collaborated on various initiatives. A highlight for 2018 is the panel discussion "The Ironies of Architecture: The Architect as Citizen," which will take place on March 16 at 10:30 AM in the theater of Sesc 24 de Maio.
