In November 2022, REDBAAL will mark its first 10 years of fruitful existence, celebrating the milestone by announcing the Fourth Edition of the Oscar Niemeyer Award for Latin American Architecture, the grand ON-04 Award.

Copenhagen and Barcelona will be the next World Capitals of Architecture in 2023 and 2026. Having developed along the water—the Baltic Sea and the Mediterranean—both cities now face the challenges of the climate emergency.

The Fundação Bienal de São Paulo invites the city's residents, especially those who frequent Ibirapuera Park, to experience the Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion in a new way. In partnership with DPA-X, a consultancy affiliated with the office of French architect and urban planner Dominique Perrault, the Indigo Group—a global leader in parking management and related services—is hosting the international "Carpark Futures Competition 2022." The initiative invites young architects residing and working in any country to explore the architectural, urban, technical, and environmental potential of repurposing underground parking facilities.

Following the success of the first edition of the Jaime Lerner Scholarship in 2021, the IAAC, in partnership with the Uruguayan firm Gómez Platero Arquitectura & Urbanismo, is launching the second edition of the Jaime Lerner Scholarships. This year, the scholarship is offered to professionals from all Latin American countries to pursue our Online Master in Cities: The Proximity Urbanism for the 2022/2023 academic year. In doing so, the sponsors reinforce their commitment to supporting early-career architects in their efforts to specialize and effectively contribute to better cities in their respective countries.

The Museu do Pontal is hosting the seminar "Modernisms, Art and Popular Culture" at its new headquarters in Barra da Tijuca, featuring two sessions: the first on May 21 and the second on June 11.
