We are honored to announce the 2020 IBRAMEM Timber Architecture Award, which aims to establish itself as a powerful tool for encouraging creative, high-quality projects in architecture, urbanism, engineering, and design using timber in Brazil and across Latin America.
Context
The increasing use of timber in construction is part of a global movement toward more efficient and sustainable building alternatives that result in lower environmental impact and greater economic and social viability. Rediscovered as the most important renewable material for sustainable construction, timber, wood-based products, and engineered timber structures are gaining significant ground in the international market—and Brazil, a country with vast forestry potential, must be part of this shift.
