Arquitectura Expone 2021 is the first virtual exhibition from the Architecture Program at the University of Piura and the third edition of the event. The goal is to create a space for sharing knowledge and showcasing the work produced by students during 2019 and 2020.

How do we perceive the problems of Lima and Callao in the context of the pandemic?

Given the changes experienced since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the needs and challenges faced by the citizens of Lima and Callao have intensified. The country's economic, social, and political crisis has contributed to unprecedented perceptions and moods among the residents of Lima and Callao. Consequently, Lima Cómo Vamos has developed the Urban Report on Citizen Perception in Lima and Callao, which captures public sentiment regarding mobility, the environment, public space, and inequality, among other issues.

ARTÍFICES is a public talk and exhibition hosted by designer @claudina_flores. The event will explore furniture, its history in Mexico, its current context, and design utilizing traditional materials.

Session 278 of the National Academy of Architecture, Monterrey Chapter

Nearly 4 million Peruvians lack housing or basic services (according to the UN), placing the country third in Latin America for social housing deficits. In search of solutions, the Colegio de Arquitectos del Perú, in collaboration with its Cusco Regional chapter, is organizing the 17th National Congress of Architects, titled “Architecture and the City Since the Bicentennial: 200 Years of Building the Peruvian Habitat—Evaluation and New Directions,” to be held from December 2 to 5 in the city of Cusco.

Established in 1984 by the Graduate Studies Division of the Faculty of Architecture, the Federico E. Mariscal Extraordinary Chair is awarded to architecture professionals in Mexico in recognition of their outstanding high-level performance in the field. It is not required for the recipient to be an active faculty member at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). This recognition is granted by the Technical Council of the Faculty of Architecture.

This virtual congress will feature guest architects from Latin America, including María Gabriela Mendoza of Interior Design Group, Estevan Andree Tezen of Grupo Cimiento SA, and Adolfo Abarca Moraga of Designs and Consulting Architects. Click here to register.

From December 3 to January 13, Servidor Local (Progreso 24, Escandón) presents Cenários, an exhibition by artists Bariza Benmehenni, Sofía Martínez, and Yatini Domínguez. These artists work with the materiality of paper and clay, creating small utopian/dystopian scenarios to construct an imaginary that transcends two-dimensionality.

Remote Residencies is an initiative emerging from the Architecture program at Campus Creativo in collaboration with the Outreach department of the Universidad Andrés Bello. It is an [inter-trans-multi]disciplinary project that aims to open a discussion on contemporary topics based on a question and an image, which will be materialized as an installation at Galería Rocamar, located on the first floor of Campus Creativo in Viña del Mar, Chile.

On Saturday, December 2, São Paulo will host the Urban-Based Education Festival (URBE), an education and urbanism festival open to students, educators, and families to discuss the future of cities. This inaugural edition, themed “Visions of a Better City,” will feature a wide-ranging program from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Avenues São Paulo campus in Morumbi.

Aiming to rethink the legacy of the German-Venezuelan artist Gego and its historical significance within a contemporary context, LA ESCUELA___ invites participation in "Reticulárea colectiva: cartografías comunes" (Collective Reticulárea: Common Cartographies). This participatory project, conceptualized by artist Miguel Braceli, proposes building a space for encounter and learning centered on collaboration, networking, and the formation of affective bonds regarding art and territory, while addressing themes of diaspora and migration.

Sesc Rio de Janeiro invites you to the opening of the exhibition "Da Kutanda ao Quitandinha – 80 anos" on December 1, 2023, starting at 10:00 AM. The exhibition marks the beginning of the 80th-anniversary celebrations for the venue, which opened in 1944 as a hotel-casino and now houses the Sesc Quitandinha Cultural Center. Curated by Marcelo Campos, the expansive exhibition is organized into six sections, tracing a narrative that begins in the 18th century with the earliest records of Black presence in the Freguesia de Nossa Senhora de Inhomirim—the foundation of the region's settlement—via the Piabanha River and the plantations that relied on enslaved labor, ultimately giving rise to the city now known as Petrópolis.

On December 9, the exhibition "Corpo Formoso" will open at the Galeria do Lago in the Museu da República. It features 11 new paintings by Rio-based artist Yoko Nishio, marking her first solo exhibition following her participation in various group shows at the Museu da República itself, the Centro Cultural Correios in Niterói, and Sesc Teresópolis, among other renowned museums and galleries.
