Berlin is a city with a complicated past, from the ravages of World War II to the division of the city by the infamous Berlin Wall from 1961 to -1989. Despite being one of the most exciting and vibrant cities in Europe, Berlin is severely lacking in affordable housing, making it less accessible to live in than many of its smaller counterparts across Germany.

The City of Helsinki today announces a competition that invites proposals for the redevelopment of Makasiiniranta at South Harbour, the last old harbour area to be transformed for public use in Helsinki. The initial period for participant enrolment - intended for operators in the construction, architecture and real estate industry - covers a six-week timeframe, open until 21 June 2021, with the inclusion of a new site for the design and architecture museum as a vital aspect of the land use plan along the city’s shoreline.
The LEGENDARY BIRD HOME 2021 competition is the second in a planned series of competitions looking to raise awareness for the global environmental crisis. This competition will be a collaboration with Birdly - a socially-responsible startup that aims to support environmental activism worldwide through funds raised by selling bird homes.

El Pantà de Sau is one of the most prominent features of its kind across the whole of Spain. The valley in which it lies was home to the small village of Sant Romà de Sau which is now submerged beneath the reservoir, apart from the Church steeple, which is still visible when the water level is low. We address “Limitation” beyond the traditional semiology of both limits and restrains. We use the word in its wider sense that in addition to its negative connotations of restrictiveness, its challenging nature that induces creativity to crack open the darkened status quo and sheds light on possibilities: It is about how limitations become submissive to the “will to/for change. We focus on spatial processes, ongoing and unfinished hands-on practices in order to understand, learn and develop.
We became architects to conceptualize, to design, to create. But too much of our time is spent searching for products, organizing details and writing specifications. Technology has provided tremendous improvements to the design process, but beyond digitizing all those binders, it has provided little advancement to product sourcing.

Our cities today are an amalgamation of various choices and experiences of the past, made by our users, designers as well leaders. A by-product of cultures that abide in it, today's urban environment faces fastidiously changing technology and transforming lifestyle choices. ‘Communication’ has had a large impact on ‘commute’ and the meaning of ‘meeting’ is no more limited to physical. There has been a paradigm shift in the cultural perception of the built and personal boundaries and territorialities have strengthened tremendously. The quality of indoor and outdoor in an urban space determines the quality of interpersonal relationships as well and health and well-being of its users. It is hence important to plan and design spaces that are capable of accommodating transformation. In today’s scenario ‘Resilience’ is the only constant that helps keep the cities stable. The quality and strength of this resilience determines the quality of Urban life.
