Ibero presents its first forum, "The Value of Design," as part of the launch of four new design degree programs.

The National Public Competition for the Basic Scheme and Preliminary Urban, Landscape, and Architectural Design for the Río Negro Park, "Water Landscapes" (Paisajes del Agua), in the Municipality of Rionegro, Antioquia, is now open. The objective is to collect and evaluate, through an open national competition format, proposals from Colombian architecture professionals—whether individuals or legal entities—who wish to submit their urban, landscape, and architectural design projects for the urban section designated for the Río Negro Linear Park.

On October 19, 21, and 22, Mexico City will host the first design festival created by Coolhuntermx, conceived by and for projects led by cisgender women, transgender people, and dissident communities. Curated by designers Andrea Soler and Taina Campos, the event offers an inclusive, diverse, and collective space. Following an inaugural edition marked by significant shared learning and insights, the festival maintains its core objective: to serve as an integrative platform for design proposals and creative expressions that seek to foster dialogues alternative to those typically seen during design month.

Obra Blanca, a project created to meet the construction sector's demand for all types of finishes, is returning for its third edition. This exhibition serves as a meeting point for professionals looking to showcase their offerings and those seeking to compare various finishing options. As a specialized exhibition, it focuses on the visitor experience and the professionalization of an increasingly sophisticated industry. The event aims to foster connections between professionals and companies in the Mexican construction finishes sector, further elevating the market level and serving as a benchmark for trends and design for architects, interior designers, builders, developers, distributors, and industry professionals.

As part of a free event organized by ArchDaily in partnership with Obra Blanca Expo on October 12 at 10:30 AM, Carlos Manuel González Baute will present in Mexico City to discuss the work of his firm, Albor Arquitectos, where he is currently a partner alongside Alain Rodríguez Sosa, Camilo José Cabrera Pérez, and Merlyn González García. Their work is based in Cienfuegos, a city on the southern coast of Cuba known for its colonial-era buildings.

"La Polita, Arquitectura Conversada" is a forum for promoting architectural culture, developed and shared by the architecture cooperative COONVITE.

The city of Puebla—located in the central highlands of Mexico—is particularly well-known for its street layout and predominantly Baroque architecture. The project "Replanning with the Landscape: Community Conflict Resolution and Technical Studies for Full Reurb-S" kicks off with an opening event scheduled for October 28, 2023.
