ELEA 2023: Latin American Meeting of Architecture Students in San Juan, Argentina

This year, we are gathering in San Juan, Argentina, from October 14 to 21, under the theme "Resilience - Territories and Challenges." Architecture students from across Latin America will congregate to share knowledge, ideas, and experiences that enrich their lives and academic training.

Book launch: “Music and Musicians in Times of Intolerance: The Holocaust”

Following ten years of research, the book “A música e os músicos em Tempos de Intolerância: o Holocausto” (Music and Musicians in Times of Intolerance: The Holocaust), published by Rio Books and written by historian Silvia Lerner, will be launched this October in three capital cities: São Paulo, Curitiba, and Rio de Janeiro. This unprecedented publication—the first of its kind in Brazil—examines the music produced during the Holocaust in ghettos, concentration camps, extermination camps, and the forests where Jewish partisans hid.

Next Saturday, October 28, at 7:00 PM, a conversation will be held between curator Fernanda Lopes and artists Andro Silva, Atelier Sanitário (Daniel Murgel and Leandro Barboza), Hugo Houayek, Natália Quinderé (Seis gentes dançam no museu), and Rafael Alonso at Galeria Athena. The event is part of the exhibition "O que há de música em você," which has just been extended until December 2, 2023, due to popular demand. The conversation is free and open to the public.

ELEA 2023: Latin American Meeting of Architecture Students in Costa Rica

The Latin American Meeting of Architecture Students (ELEA) has served, across thirty-three in-person and one virtual edition, as an annual space to bring together hundreds of architecture students and young professionals from across Latin America. It provides a platform for different generations to exchange experiences and knowledge, and to build networks through exhibition, dialogue, and action within the field of architecture—and even in areas not commonly recognized as part of the discipline.
