Transylvania Archtecture Biennale

The sixth edition of the Transilvania Architecture Biennale (BATRA) 2023 is organized by the Romanian Order of Architects - Transilvania Branch, in partnership with the OAR branches in Bihor, Satu-Mare, Alba and North-West, and with the support of the OAR national branch.

The event takes place between October 20 and November 20, in Cluj-Napoca and in 4 other cities in the country (Oradea, Baia Mare, Satu Mare and Alba Iulia). The demonstrations will take place during the week of October 20 - 28, and the exhibitions will be displayed in the 5 cities for a month.

In Cluj-Napoca, the exhibition will be able to be admired, as usual, in Piața Unirii, in Oradea, in Piata Unirii, in Baia Mare, on the esplanade of the Maramures County Museum of Ethnography and Folk Art, in Alba Iulia, in Piața Cetății, and in Satu Mare, in the historical center.

Architecture is lived and this transforms it at any time into an extraordinary tool for education and training. Starting from this idea, each edition of BATRA brings a theme of interest to both architects and clients, the community and the local administration. They are themes and goals at the same time, meant to correct and improve the appearance, but also the comfort of the houses we live in, the buildings where we carry out our professional activity or the places meant to give us relaxation and pleasure.

The purpose of the 2023 edition is reflected by the chosen theme, "(imp)ACT", respectively by the organizers' belief that architecture has the power to change the world. The difficult part is the awareness of the way in which this change can occur and, above all, the way in which this change can be for the good.
