In our lighting community, we have had a unique year, full of lessons that we are eager to continue exploring and expanding upon through our "Lighting Seminar," which will take place via ZOOM on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.

This theoretical and practical course focuses on Green Infrastructure Urban Design. Through case studies and group project development, participants will learn the core concepts and tools required to implement Green Infrastructure.

The competition calls for the conceptualization of a floating housing prototype (FLOATING HOUSE) that functions as an independent unit. Through its design, it should be capable of forming a cluster of 10 units, adding value to the natural environment. The site is located on the Caribbean coast, on the island of Holbox, Mexico.

UPDATE: The 13th International Architecture Biennial of São Paulo has extended the deadline for the Co-Curatorship Competition proposals until January 31, 2021, at 11:59 PM. Proposals may be submitted via the Biennial website. This edition features a 12-member committee, including representatives from the IAB (Institute of Architects of Brazil) from other states to ensure plurality in overseeing this event of national and international reach.

We remain convinced that, now more than ever, academia must be linked to social issues by creating School+Community projects. With over 1,500 students, architects, and professors from 20 countries having participated in the 28 chapters held to date, we invite you to continue contributing to this initiative.

It is no secret that reflective, intellectual, and theoretical work has accompanied the authors of classic architectural works and related disciplines: from treatises, manuals, and books to other printed or digital publications that have transformed their content based on historical, political, social, and technological contexts, to name a few.
