The Foros lecture series at the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture, an essential annual event in the fields of architecture and urbanism, is launching a new edition, which will run from January 29 to April 29.
Titled “Co-benefits,” Foros 2020 aims to reflect on the links and processes of cultural interaction between contemporary architecture and other artistic expressions, such as dance, sculpture, film, and comics. For the second consecutive year, the series is directed by professors Guillem Carabí and Fredy Massad. “Just as contemporary art, in its various manifestations, often appropriates architectural elements—liberated from any connotation of habitability—architecture utilizes diverse artistic disciplines to reclaim its emotional character and, in doing so, recover some of the lost connections with its users,” they explain.
