The XII Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism: "Habitar al margen" (Living on the Margins), which opened in Mexico City last September 2022 alongside the MEXTRÓPOLI Festival, is expanding its reach through a traveling program. Throughout January and February 2023, it will be presented as part of the XXII Chilean Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism: "Vulnerable Habitats".

The second session of the 2022/23 Elisava Masters’ Talks, a lecture series organized by Elisava, Barcelona School of Design and Engineering, will focus on the evolution of technology over the last 20 years and its impact on the work of the Dutch studio Moniker. Luna Maurer, interaction designer and multimedia design artist, co-founder and co-director of Moniker alongside Roel Wouters, will delve into the new perspective on technology currently being developed by the Amsterdam-based studio.
“Ruta Caravanera” is an interdisciplinary workshop based on the itinerant methodology of Swiss curator and historian Philip Ursprung and the territorial research trips led by Tarapacá-based curator Rodolfo Andaur in Tarapacá and other regions of the Americas. The workshop’s objectives revisit the ancestral practices of the first Andean nations as alternative frameworks for reading and understanding geography.

The Urban Housing and Habitat Practices Platform (UHPH) is calling for entries for the 2023 UHPH Inspiring Practices Competition. The competition seeks to identify policies, plans, programs, projects, initiatives, and sustainable and technological solutions in the housing and habitat sector developed in Latin America and the Caribbean. These entries should leverage innovation and collaboration to help combat inequalities in urban settlements in the face of the climate crisis and its effects.
The Félix Candela Award is a two-stage international architecture ideas competition held in Spanish. Organized annually by the Spanish Institute of Architecture (IESARQ), it is open to all students of architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, and design, as well as architects, landscape architects, urban planners, and young designers, participating individually or in teams of two or three members.
As part of the activities taking place during the What Design Can Do festival, the Make It Circular Challenge has been launched, with a deadline of January 31. The challenge seeks proposals in the categories of "What We Eat," "What We Wear," "What We Buy," "How We Package," or "How We Build" to help address the devastating effects of overconsumption, waste, and climate change. The Make It Circular Challenge awards a prize of 10,000 euros for the development of circular design projects that help combat the climate crisis in a creative way.

The sixth edition of the Félix Candela Award is a dream of the city. After several editions spent traversing the countryside in search of truth, this edition focuses on the quintessential social construct of architecture: the city. The city is the built form of human relationships and, as such, represents us as a society. The question is whether our current city is also our will. Between the Captive and the Warrior, we choose to be both, in that oscillation that Spanish architect Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oíza spoke of—from the city to the countryside, and now from the countryside back to the city. We return from the field with at least the tools of the woodsman, the hunter, the farmer, the gardener, or the shepherd, ready to insert what we have learned into the robust trunk of our cities.
